Verb Ballets Commissions Two New Ballets

Verb Ballets has commissioned two new ballet by Cleveland choreographers Kay Eichman and Richard Dickinson. The public is invited on October 26, 2018 for Live @ Noon an exclusive working rehearsal with the choreographers. This unique opportunity will provide insight into the work of creating a new ballet and the choreographers process. Pack a lunch to enjoy during the rehearsal followed by dessert to be provided.

Kay Eichman received her early ballet training from Pat Leclercqin New Orleans. She later studied on scholarship at: The National Ballet, Washington DC; The National Ballet of Canada; The Conservatoire de Nice, France; and Joffrey's American Ballet Center in New York. Eichman left the Joffrey II company to join Cleveland Ballet in its inaugural season, a distinguished 15-year career ensued, including principal roles in numerous traditional and contemporary works. Her new ballet is set to the music of Mendelssohn and was inspired by Dennis Nahat's Mendelssohn Symphony.

Verb Ballets' Associate Artistic Director, Richard Dickinson choreographed a new story ballet Mowgli's Jungle Adventures. Dickinson had an extensive dance career including principal and soloist roles at Ohio Ballet, Boston Ballet, Chicago Ballet, Honolulu City Ballet and various regional companies. This new ballet is based on Rudyard Kipling's classic tale of an Indian boy abandoned by his parents and raised by a pack of wolves. The premiere is April 17-18, 2019 presented by Children's Concert Society at the Akron Civic Theatre.

The studio is located at in the same building as The Dealership. Free parking available. Live @ Noon is on Friday, October 26, 2018 at 12:00pm at the Verb Ballets Center for Dance located at 3558 Lee Rd. Shaker Heights, OH 44120. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10for children. Stay afterwards to meet the choreographers and dancers. Doors open at 11:45pm and viewing begins at noon.
