Irish Arts Center and Baryshnikov Arts Center join forces again to present the U.S. premiere of Colin Dunne's Concert, in which he takes on the widely influential Irish fiddle player Tommie Potts' iconic—and notoriously choreographically challenging—1972 album The Liffey Banks, armed with an LP, tape recorder, portable speakers, and sheets of flooring. Choreographed and performed by Dunne, and created in collaboration with director Sinéad Rushe and composer and sound designer Mel Mercier, Concert, which The Irish Times, in a five-star review, described as “warm, funny, respectful, and irreverent,” comes to Baryshnikov Arts Center November 14-16.

Magnetic Opera Festival 2019 Comes to Elba Island

From 7 to 22 July, Elba Island will host the fifth edition of the Magnetic Opera Festival that will take place in Capoliveri, the main town of the South-Eastern side of the Tuscan island. The summer musical event organised by the local cultural association Maggyart combines opera and ballet performances at two venues: the historical, magnetite mine of Ginevro (Miniera di Ginevro) and the scenic main square of Capoliveri - Piazza Matteotti.

Asolo Repertory Theatre and The Sarasota Ballet proudly announce the installation of brand new seating in the Harold and Esther Mertz Theatre, the main performing space for Asolo Repertory Theatre and the home of The Sarasota Ballet. Located in the FSU Center for the Performing Arts, which is also home to the FSU/Asolo Conservatory for Actor Training, the exquisite Mertz Theatre is one of Sarasota's most populated and significant cultural venues.
