B.R.O.K.E.N code B.I.R.D switching is a thought-provoking new work by playwright Tara L. Wilson Noth. It will have a limited workshop engagement through November 23, at the Stephanie Feury Theatre, 5636 Melrose Avenue, Los Angeles. In the play by the new playwright, a lawyer is tasked with representing a black teenager accused of murder. In her search for the truth, she is forced to face her own devastating truths about marriage, race and the woman she's chosen to be.

You oughtta know that Jagged Little Pill is officially in preview son Broadway!  The new musical is inspired by the themes and raw emotions laid bare in Alanis Morissette's seminal album of the same name. The Healys appear to be a picture-perfect suburban family - but looks can be deceiving. When the cracks beneath the surface begin to show, they must choose between maintaining the status quo or facing harsh truths about themselves, their community, and the world around them.

Amas Musical Theatre is seeking an actor to play Shakespeare's Romeo, who has time-slipped into 1960's Brooklyn, for the upcoming premiere production (January 2020) of a?oeRomeo and Bernadette: A Musical Tale of Verona and Brooklyn,a?? with a book by Mark Saltzman and music based on classic Italian melodies. Weinberger Award for Emerging Librettists, a juried cash and production grant to be given annually to support the early work and career of a deserving musical theatre librettist. The Award commemorates the life and work of playwright/librettist Eric H. Weinberger (1950-2017), who was a Drama Desk Award nominee for Best Book of a Musical (Wanda's World, and the playwright/librettist of Class Mothers '68, that earned Pricilla Lopez a Drama Desk Award nomination.

Friends, colleagues, and students of the highly regarded and much loved actor, teacher, writer, and director E. Katherine Kerr will gather on Monday, September 30, 2019, at 6:00 P.M. at Playwrights Horizons Peter Jay Sharp Theater to celebrate her life.

Award-winning director and choreographer Jonathan Cerullo (The Boys from Syracuse, Big Apple Circus), has been named an Artistic Associate at Amas Musical Theatre. Donna Trinkoff announced Cerullo will be joining SDC director and choreographer Christopher Scott and Lynne Taylor-Corbett.

The OBIE Award-winning NAATCO, National Asian American Theatre Company, kicks off their 29th season with the World Premiere of Gordon Dahlquist's [Veil Widow Conspiracy]. Aneesha Kudtarkar directs a cast that will include Edward Chin-Lyn, Kimiye Corwin, Bruce McKenzie, David Shih, James Seol, Karoline Xu, and Aaron Yoo. This Off-Broadway limited engagement at Next Door at New York Theatre Workshop (79 East 4th Street) will begin performances Saturday June 8th with Opening Night set for June 15th (7pm).  Performances continue through July 6th only.

Mia Katigbak has received the annual St. Clair Bayfield Award presented by the Actors' Equity Foundation for her performance as The Duke of Gloucester in NAATCO's production of Henry VI. The announcement was made by Judy Rice, President of the Foundation, and Joan Glazer, Managing Director.
