Bloomingdale School of Music continues its 2022/23 Free Faculty Concert Series at the David Greer Concert Hall in May and June.

Below is the upcoming schedule at Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater February 3 through February 16: 

Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater are pleased to present the schedule for the month of February! At Birdland Jazz Club, catch the iconic Lionel Hampton Big Band Featuring Jason Marsalis, current GRAMMY nominee Catherine Russell, the Birdland debut of AGUAS Trio with Omar Sosa, Yilian Cañizares and Gustavo Ovalles, and iconic vocalist Jane Monheit. Internationally recognized trumpeter Rachel Therrien, the Seth Weaver Big Band, and The Voice contestant Melinda Rose Rodriguez will also be performing upstairs. 

All the glamour and excitement of a Cafe Carlyle opening night happened last night as Billy Stritch seated at the piano announced, (after the bands opening instrumental 'Lady Be Good') 'Ladies and Gentlemen Linda Lavin!'

Age doesn't stand a chance of catching up with the busy and multi-talented Linda Lavin. Ms. Lavin is in Los Angeles to film a new sitcom, but will fly to Cape Cod this weekend for two nights of concerts at Provincetown's Crown and Anchor.

Setting down roots in Pittsburgh two years ago has borne fruit for alto saxophonist Richie Cole in the form of his beautiful new album, 'Richie Cole Plays Ballads & Love Songs.' The CD, his first all-ballads album, will be released on his Richie Cole Presents imprint on October 21.

The Carlyle, a Rosewood Hotel, will welcome Jim Caruso & Billy Stritch, The Brandon McCune Trio,and Tony DeSare and to Bemelmans Bar for Sunday night residencies throughout the spring 2016 season. Featuring top artists from the worlds of jazz, cabaret and Broadway alongside special unannounced guests, Sunday nights at Bemelmans Bar have become a favorite spot for a wide range of performing musicians across the city. Additionally, the classic watering hole has drawn crowds consisting of socialites, politicians, movie stars and moguls for more than five decades. Acclaimed NYC jazz vocalist MARCUS GOLDHABER will be competing for a prestigious MAC Award in Songwriting tomorrow night (Tuesday, March 29) en route to the latest monthly edition of his thrice-extended MOSTLY MARCUS acoustic duo residency this weekend

With crowds swelling at each session, MOSTLY MARCUS, the totally unique acoustic duo residency in which acclaimed NYC jazz vocalist-songwriter and two-time 2015 Best Male Vocalist Nominee MARCUS GOLDHABER strips the Great American Songbook 'to the bone' like never before, has been extended for the third time at Bar Thalia, Symphony Space's newest home for jazz. The latest extension of the monthly residency starts this Sunday, (Feb. 7) with special featured vocalist Aimee Allen, and guitarist Ron Jackson. Dates continue: March 6, April 3, May 1, and June 5.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present Broadway and television actress Linda Lavin for two very special concerts on the historic stage this past week. The show, wryly entitled 'My First Farewell Concert,' is Lavin's personal story told in songs she loves. She performed favorites from the Great American/Brazilian/Yiddish Songbooks, with Billy Stritch at the piano, Steve Bakunas on drums, Ron Affif on guitar, Tom Hubbard on bass, and special guest Aaron Weinstein on violin.
