Disney has pushed the Steven Spielberg-directed Indiana Jones 5 to July 9, 2021 now that Spielberg's other project, a West Side Story reboot, is in pre-production, Deadline has reported.

'West Side Story' Film To Screen At Brevard Music Center With Live Symphony Orchestra

Brevard Music Center (BMC) will screen the classic American movie musical West Side Story with a full symphony orchestra on Saturday, July 14 at 8:30 PM at Whittington-Pfohl Auditorium. Conducting the Brevard Sinfonia in Leonard Bernstein's reverent and iconic score will be BMC alumnus Jayce Ogren. Patrons can enjoy a 7:30 PM pre-concert discussion, Bernstein & Justice, held in conjunction with Transylvania's Project Empathy and presented by Joseph Horowitz, a former New York Times music critic, pioneer in thematic interdisciplinary classical music programming, and one of the most prominent and widely published authorities on American music. WEST SIDE STORY and MAMMA MIA! Added to Hillbarn Theatre's 2018-19 Season

Hillbarn Theatre, the Peninsula's premier theatre company, announced that it has added crowd-favorite musicals WEST SIDE STORY andMAMMA MIA! to its 2018-19 season. WEST SIDE STORY will open the season, runningAugust 30 - September 16, 2018, and MAMMA MIA! will replace the previously announced closing show, THE WEDDING SINGER, running May 9 - 26, 2019.

As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Steven Spielberg's remake of WEST SIDE STORY is one of his next projects, and a casting notice that went out today confirms those rumors. Casting director Cindy Tolan is seeking actors to play the musical's four leading roles: Maria, Tony, Bernardo and Anita. All four actors must be able to sing, and Maria, Anita and Bernardo must be able to speak Spanish.

The McCallum Theatre presents WEST SIDE STORY: IN CONCERT for five performances Friday, March 9 through Sunday, March 11. This classic musical is being exclusively produced by the McCallum Theatre as part of its Leonard Bernstein Centennial Celebration.  The March 9 performance of West Side Story: In Concert is presented through the generosity of Annette Bloch.  The March 10 performance is presented through the generosity of Richard and Julia Heyman.  The March 11 performance is presented through the generosity of Edeltraud and Patrick M. McCarthy. With a book by Arthur Laurents, music by Leonard Bernstein, lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and conception and choreography by Jerome Robbins, West Side Story is one of the most beloved and celebrated musicals in Broadway history.  The original 1957 Broadway production ran for 732 performances and was nominated for six Tony Awards including Best Musical, winning for Best Choreography and Best Scenic Design.  The 1961 musical film, directed by Robert Wise and Robbins, won ten Academy Awards including Best Picture.

Staged on the grounds of the Richter Arts Center in Danbury July 7 through 22, performances take place outdoors under the stars Friday through Sunday evenings at 8:30 p.m., with additional specially discounted performances on Thursday, July 13 and 20.
