The Gotham Film & Media Institute announced the nominations for the 33rd Annual Gotham Awards, singling out 20 feature films, 11 series, and 30 performances in ten award categories. TheaterWorks Hartford will open its 2022-2023 season with Fun Home. The cast for Fun Home includes Broadway veterans Aaron Lazar as Bruce, Christiane Noll as Helen, and Sarah Beth Pfeifer.

Slave Play, the ground-breaking work by Tony Award nominee Jeremy O. Harris under the direction of Tony Award nominee Robert O’Hara, announced its digital lottery in partnership with Lucky Seat. The strictly limited return engagement of Slave Play is now in previews ahead of a Thursday, December 2 opening night at the August Wilson Theatre.

Complete casting has been announced for the return Broadway engagement of Jeremy O. Harris' Slave Play at the August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street). Joining the production are Devin Kawaoka as Dustin and Jonathan Chad Higginbotham as Phillip. They join returning original Broadway and NYTW cast members.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Slave Play will return to Broadway beginning later this fall. The return engagement, directed by Tony Award nominee Robert O’Hara, will begin performances Tuesday, November 23 ahead of an official opening night of Thursday, December 2 for a strictly limited eight-week engagement through Sunday, January 23, 2022.

The previously announced West End production of Sunday in the Park with George has announced that it will not open in 2021.

Playwright Jeremy O. Harris has announced the launch of The Golden Collection, composed of 15 plays by prominent Black playwrights including Slave Play, which has received a historic 12 Tony Award nominations more than any other play in Broadway history.

An ensemble cast has rounded out 'The Guilty,' starring Jake Gyllenhaal.

The limited series will star and be executive produced by Nine Stories’ Jake Gyllenhaal.

The highly anticipated West End season of Sunday in the Park with George, starring Academy Award nominee Jake Gyllenhaal and Tony Award winner Annaleigh Ashford has postponed its season in the West End until further notice, following the temporary closure of theatreland this spring.
