The UK tour has been announced of The Last Picture, a brand-new play by Catherine Dyson, known for her evocative storytelling and sharp insight into human connection.

The production checks off each convention you might think belongs to non-Jamie Lloyd contemporary theatre one after the other. Swanky set? Tick. Random handheld microphone that’s used once? Tick. Eccentric spin on a classic protagonist? Tick. One excellent visual display that re-establishes a recurring allegory? Tick. A strong female character we forget about halfway through? Tick. Live feeds and projections? Tick. That one actor who incorporates BSL in their practice? Tick. Sudden meta-break for no reason at all? Tick. It’s exhausting. It becomes a masterclass in how not to build a new take on Macbeth.

ETT has announced the appointment of Amy Vaughan as Chair of the Board of Trustees, she takes up the position from outgoing Chair Robert Delamere. She will be joined by Alison Holder and Harriet Mackie who are new trustees of the board.

Following a successful tour in 2023/2024, the English Touring Theatre Company’s production of Macbeth is transferring to the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre from 5 March 2025.

ETT has announced full casting for Artistic Director Richard Twyman’s version of Macbeth, which has been reworked for 2025 for a limited run at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre.

Macbeth will return to the stage for a limited run. Artistic Director of ETT, Richard Twyman will direct Alex Austin in the titular role as Macbeth and Lois Chimimba as Lady Macbeth in the 2025 production at Lyric Hammersmith Theatre.

Lyric Hammersmith Theatre, ETT and Sheffield Theatres today announce a new co-production of Bertolt Brecht's The Good Person of Szechwan, written by Nina Segal (In the Night Time [Before The Sun Rises], directed by Sheffield Theatres RTYDS Associate Artistic Director Anthony Lau (Anna Karenina), and commissioned by ETT due to open in Spring 2023.
