A long-standing opening night tradition on the Great White Way, the fabled Gypsy Robe is bestowed upon a veteran Broadway chorus member for each opening production. In what has now become a theatrical ritual, originating on Broadway 60 years ago, the latest receipient was GHOST cast member James Brown III at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in New York City.

The supernatural power of love arrived on Broadway last night, April 24th, at the Opening Night of GHOST The Musical. Featuring an original score by rock legends Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard, and a book by the original Oscar-winning screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin, GHOST was directed by Tony and Olivier Award winner Matthew Warchus and starred Richard Fleeshman Sam Wheat, Caissie Levy Molly Jensen, Da'Vine Joy Randolph Oda Mae Brown and Bryce Pinkham Carl Bruner. The producers of Ghost The Musical announced today that Richard Fleeshman and Caissie Levy will reprise their starring roles as Sam and Molly, which they originated in London's hit West End production, when it premieres this Spring at Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46th Street). They will be joined by Bryce Pinkham as Carl Bruner and newcomer Da'Vine Joy Randolph as Oda Mae Brown. Preview performances will begin on Thursday, March 15, 2012. Opening night is confirmed for Monday, April 23, 2012.

GHOST: THE MUSICAL began previews on Thursday, March 15th at The Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. Set in modern day New York City, Ghost The Musical is a timeless fantasy about the power of love. Walking back to their apartment one night, Sam and Molly are mugged, leaving Sam murdered on a dark street. Sam is trapped as a ghost between this world and the next and unable to leave Molly, who he learns is in grave danger. With the help of a phony storefront psychic, Oda Mae Brown, Sam tries to communicate with Molly in the hope of saving and protecting her.
