Dimensions Festival Announces Final Programme for 2020

Dimensions Festival completes its ambitious 2020 programme with the news that Underground Resistance Live, Ash Lauryn, Moritz Von Oswald, Batu, DVS1, JASSS, Voigtmann, Reiss, Youandewan, Huerta, Red Greg, Yak, Freakenstein, Charles Webster, LSDXOXO, Josh Cheon as well as new partners VBX, Love Muscle and Stamp The Wax also get involved. For the first time this year, this all goes down at breathtaking natural bay The Garden Resort, Tisno from 13-17th August, 2020. 

VKIBC Announces The Judges For 2020, Celebrating VKIBC's 10th Anniversary

Valentina Kozlova announces the 10th annual Kozlova International Ballet Competition, hosting 100+ dancers from around the world. Once again, one day will be set aside for both performers and choreographers of contemporary dance, who will also compete for company contracts and scholarships to dance academies around the world. This year's event is a major celebration of two events: the 10th Anniversary of VKIBC, and the 40th Anniversary of the defection from the Bolshoi Ballet of Valentina Kozlova and Leonid Kozlov, who will be reunited on stage in a Gala Performance Thursday March 19th, with guest appearances by past VKIBC winners, including Brooklyn Mack.

Goodman Theatre Has Announced Casting For SCHOOL GIRLS and AMERICAN MARIACHI

Goodman Theatre has announced casting for two upcoming Chicago premiere productions in its 2019/2020 Season. Jocelyn Bioh's School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play comes to the Goodman following its acclaimed off-Broadway engagement in a new production directed by Lili-Anne Brown (Lottery Day); and American Mariachi, directed by Goodman Resident Artistic Associate Henry Godinez in a co-production with Dallas Theater Center, featuring live mariachi music on stage. School Girls; Or, The African Mean Girls Play appears March 7 - April 12, 2020; tickets ($20-$70) are on sale now. American Mariachi appears April 25 - May 31; tickets ($20-$70) go on sale February 28 at 10am. Both productions appear in the 856-seat Albert Theatre. Today rock and roll legends Guns N' Roses announced North American dates as part of their epic 2020 worldwide stadium tour this summer.  The powerhouse performers will bring their uninhibited signature sound and dominance to millions of fans across the globe starting this March in Mexico City. The colossal Guns N' Roses 2020 Tour will steamroll through Toronto, Chicago, Atlanta, Los Angeles, Lisbon, London, Prague and so many more. GNR will be the first ever rock band to perform at the long-awaited Los Angeles SoFi Stadium and will hit MetLife Stadium on the opposite coast, home of the New York Giants and New York Jets.

The Montalbán Celebrates Ricardo Montalbán's 100th Birthday with Diversity and Inclusion

In celebration of what would be legendary film and television icon Ricardo Montalbán's 100th birthday in 2020, the historic Hollywood theatre, The Montalbán, whose moniker is “where entertainment begins,” is unveiling new plans to fulfill Ricardo Montalbán's dream of diversity and inclusion. This year, the owners of The Montalbán, Ricardo's son in law and President of The Montalbán Company, LLC, Gilbert Smith, and daughter Anita, have plans to expand the theatre's musical performances, beginning with The Company Men on February 21 and 22; and The Soul of Broadway Starring Terron Brooks on February 28 and 29.

Katharine McPhee Cast in Netflix Comedy Series COUNTRY COMFORT

Netflix has ordered 10 episodes of Country Comfort, a new original multi-cam comedy series created by Caryn Lucas (The Nanny, Miss Congeniality). he series stars Katharine McPhee (Waitress on Broadway, The House Bunny) as Bailey and Eddie Cibrian (Take Two, RoseWood) as Beau, as well as Ricardo Hurtado (Malibu Rescue), Jamie Martin Mann, Pyper Braun, Shiloh Verrico (Here Today, Crown Vic) and Griffin McIntyre.  

THE PRINCE OF EGYPT Has Announced Children's Casting

THE PRINCE OF EGYPT, the new musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Godspell), a book by Philip LaZebnik (Mulan, Pocahontas) and based on the celebrated DreamWorks Animation film, has announced its children's casting with the roles of Young Miriam, Leah and Young Hebrew Girl being shared by Mia Lakha, Iman Pabani and Hannah Selk and the roles of Young Aaron, Young Egyptian Boy and Young Midian Boy being shared by Leo Babet, Jonah Collier and Taylor Jenkins.

Genesis Festival Of New Plays Returns To Crossroads

Crossroads Theatre Company's Genesis Festival of Plays is back for a three-day run of three new works that stand true to the theatre's history of telling stories that highlight issues and start conversations across ethnic, racial and cultural spectrums, Crossroads announced today.  The Genesis Festival, which will run February 21-23, is a playwright laboratory experience that consists of three separate shows of stage readings for the audience to enjoy and critique that will be held in the performance studio of The New Brunswick Performing Arts Center (NBPAC).

The GRAMMY AWARDS Premiere Ceremony took place at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday, January 26, from 12:30-3:30 p.m. PT. Preceding the 62nd Annual GRAMMY AWARDS telecast, the Premiere Ceremony was hosted by two-time GRAMMY winner and current nominee Imogen Heap and featured a number of performances by current GRAMMY nominees. Performers included classical violinist Nicola Benedetti, jazz legend Chick Corea, folk music supergroup I'm With Her, West African sensation Angélique Kidjo and Best New Artist nominee Yola.

LA BOHEME Will Open Sarasota Opera Winter Festival in February

Love is in the air on Saturday, February 8 at 7pm, when Sarasota Opera opens the 2020 Winter Opera Festival with Puccini's La bohème. The melodious love story follows a group of friends - starving artists and intellectuals - living a bohemian lifestyle in 1830's Paris. They struggle with poverty, but never let hardship bring them down. Along the way, Rodolfo and Mimì fall in love-and it doesn't get much more romantic than young love in Paris in the winter. BWW Review: UNDER THE RADAR: FEOS & THE SHADOW WHOSE PREY THE HUNTER BECOMES at The Public Theater

Mid-January in New York City does not appear to be a particularly romantic or momentous time of year for The Big Apple. The Christmas decorations have come down (most of them at least) and the holiday revelers and hoards of tourists have retreated, getting on with their own lives for the start of a new year -- and in this case, a new decade -- during a very tumultuous time where everything matters and nothing, especially in the arts, feels arbitrary.
