Shubert New Haven announces that Broadway’s NORM LEWIS will be the featured performer for the Shubert Theatre’s 2022 Gala on June 8. Chita Rivera – who was originally scheduled to headline the Gala – has tested positive for COVID-19 and will be unable to perform. Birdland presented singer/songwriter Amanda McBroom in “Crimes of the Heart” on Monday, May 2. Ms. McBroom is perhaps best known for her song, “The Rose,” which was famously recorded by Bette Midler for the film of the same name. But until this concert, McBroom and Midler hadn’t met, even though the extraordinary composition helped change both careers.
