Chicago-based singer-songwriter-pianist Neal Francis has shared a creative new video for “Prometheus,” one of the many highlights found on his acclaimed 2021 album, In Plain Sight (ATO). Directed by longtime collaborators Alec Basse and Max Moore, “Prometheus” is streaming now at YouTube. 

With three nights of Beethoven (June 9-11), Pacific Symphony presents “Beethoven's Piano Concertos'—a weekend-long extravaganza belatedly celebrating the beloved composer's 250th birthday. Originally scheduled for March 2020, the beginning of the pandemic necessitated rescheduling.

At the close of Chicago Philharmonic's thrilling 2021-2022 Symphonic Season on May 29, the organization proudly announces a ten-concert summer series that kicks off June 10 and will take place throughout the Chicagoland area.

PEAK Performances at Montclair State University will welcome back Bill T. Jones / Arnie Zane Company for the world premiere of Curriculum II, a timely new work conceived and directed by the iconic, Tony-winning, and currently-Tony-nominated Bill T. Jones and choreographed by Jones with Janet Wong and the Company. 

 The Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts will present an evening with acclaimed Ukrainian-American pianist Inna Faliks, who breaks new ground with a breathtakingly innovative homage to Beethoven and Ravel that includes the live premieres of imaginative and rich new works for the piano by nine contemporary composers.

12th of June, the new album from four-time Grammy-winning singer, composer and actor Lyle Lovett is out today via Verve Records. Produced by Chuck Ainlay and Lovett, 12th of June features a mix of new originals, including previously released singles “12th of June” and “Pants Is Overrated,” standards by Nat King Cole and Dave Frishberg, and a Horace Silver instrumental, representing Lovett’s dynamic live performances with his Large Band. Coupled with his gift for storytelling, the new album continues to highlight Lovett’s ability to fuse elements of jazz, country, western swing, folk, gospel and blues in a convention-defying manner that breaks down barriers.

Keb’ Mo’ released a live performance video for the contemplative and optimistic “Marvelous To Me” from his critically acclaimed new album Good To Be out now via Rounder Records. Keb’ Mo’ is currently in the midst of a European tour and will kick off a US tour this June, including a number of dates supporting Sheryl Crow.

The Richard Tucker Music Foundation today announces the 2022 recipients of its prestigious Richard Tucker Award, Richard Tucker Career Grant, and Sara Tucker Study Grant.

Ravinia Festival is pleased to announce an expanded summer series on its Carousel stage following a successful inaugural year in 2021. The Carousel stage on the North Lawn offers casual, general admission seating for individual events, and, new this year, will host opening acts for several Pavilion headliners during the summer season, which runs from May 20 through September 18.

Today, cellist Amit Peled releases his next album, Solus et una, on CTM Classics. A follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2018 album Bach Vol. 1, Solus et una features J.S. Bach's Suites Nos. 4 and 5 for Violoncello Solo, plus a brand new cello choir arrangement of the Andante from Brahms' Symphony No. 3, performed by the Mount Vernon Virtuosi cellos. Suites Nos. 4 and 5 were recorded and engineered by six-time Grammy Award-winning recording producer Da-Hong Seetoo.

​​​​​​​Lyric Fest presents a larger-than-life musical biography of iconic American composer Cole Porter: Anything Goes: Cole Porter - Uncensored will take place on Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at 7:00pm at the Moorestown Community Center in Moorestown, NJ and Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 7:00pm at the Academy of Vocal Arts in Philadelphia, PA. Featured in this all-Cole Porter program are baritone Randall Scarlata, mezzo-soprano Suzanne DuPlantis, and pianist Laura Ward.

The great Chicago actress Hollis Resnik passed away this past Sunday at the age of 67.
