Sometimes One Musical Star Just Isn't Enough! The York Theatre Company has added more of Broadway’s best to the All-Singing, All-Talking, All-Virtual special benefit presentation of the Off-Broadway hit THE MUSICAL OF MUSICALS (THE MUSICAL!)…and More!.

Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley announced today that the cast of “ER” will reunite on “Stars In The House” for a special Earth Day episode benefiting Waterkeeper Alliance.

The cast will commemorate the 20th Anniversary of the show's Broadway premiere with an evening of backstage stories, reminiscing, and of course, plenty of music! 

While filming a virtual benefit for the York Theatre, Andre De Shields was surprised by two producers and a Senator.

The cast of “Cagney & Lacey” will reunite on “Stars In The House” on Wednesday, April 14 at 8pm ET. Sharon Gless (Christine Cagney), Tyne Daly (Mary Beth Lacey), and Martin Kove (Victor Isbecki), will come together to talk about their time on the beloved series, which became the quintessential show for, and about, working women. 

Senator Brad Hoylman surprised the Tony, Grammy and Emmy Award winner André De Shields with a Senate Proclamation on Thursday April 8th, 2021 proclaiming the day “André De Shields Appreciation Day”. The surprise proclamation was arranged by producer Tom D’Angora to honor the extensive charity work Mr. De Shields has done for the community this year.

The York Theatre Company announced today an anonymous donor WILL match all donations this week up $50,000 as part of its “Rebuild The York” campaign which leads up to the Gala Benefit performance of THE MUSICAL OF MUSICALS (THE MUSICAL!)…AND MORE!, which begins streaming on demand on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at 7:00PM.

“The Kids Are All Right” cast will reunite on “Stars In The House” on Saturday, April 10 at 8pm ET in support of The Actors Fund.  Annette Bening, Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, Mia Wasikowska, and Josh Hutcherson will come together to talk about their time working on Lisa Cholodenko’s beautiful movie about what really makes a family a family.

After fundraising efforts that saved Birdland and The West Bank Cafe, three superheroes of the industry turn their attention to The York Theatre Company.

Between May and June 2021, Vineyard Theatre will offer a series of intimate virtual conversations with prolific figures spanning multiple sectors – a wide range of thinkers and creators who will speak candidly about what it means to contribute to the cultural life of our country before, during, and beyond our current moment.

 The York Theatre Company will present an All-Singing, All-Talking, All-Virtual special benefit presentation of the Off-Broadway hit _THE MUSICAL OF MUSICALS (THE MUSICAL!).This event will raise funds to help The York recover and rebuild after devastating damage from a water main break on January 4, 2021.

The anniversary episode broke the single-show fundraising record, raising over $28,300 (including a $10,000 matching grant from the Frances Lear Foundation).  Now, after over 375 episodes, “Stars In The House” has raised over $751,842 for The Actors Fund & $200,000 for other charity organizations who have needed support throughout the pandemic.

On March 16, 2020, Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley launched “Stars In The House” in response to what they knew would be an immediate need for funds in light of the Broadway shutdown.  Now, one year and over 375 episodes later, “Stars In The House” has raised over $715,000 for The Actors Fund & an additional $200,000 for other charity organizations.
