"Thespians" (The Movie), a documentary that features high school theatre talent, has partnered with the nation's premier not-for-profit Broadway training organization, Broadway Dreams Foundation, to offer a summer contest, Thespians Broadway Challenge.
The Broadway Experience is an international musical theatre program designed to create triple threat performers. Now running both a three day winter intensive and a two week summer program, students will undergo an intense study of dance, voice and acting along with a major performance opportunity with current Broadway professionals and incredible master teachers. During the intensive, attendees received first-rate training in acting, dance and vocal performance daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. by savvy Broadway veterans who shared their invaluable insider knowledge on the skills needed to make it in show business.
On Sunday, August 1, Christopher and Vicki Le Vine celebrated The Broadway Dreams Foundation's return engagement to Philadelphia with a star-studded benefit fundraiser, hosted by television and Broadway personalities Nicole Parker ('MadTv,' Wicked) and Paul Canaan (MTV's 'Legally Blonde,' La Cage). The benefit was held at Grace Winery's outdoor amphitheatre nestled on the grounds of Sweetwater Farm Bed and Breakfast in the historic Brandywine Valley. The Broadway Dreams Foundation returned to Omaha this summer to present their acclaimed Summer Performing Arts Intensive, a week long performance workshop, Tuesday, July 20 through Sunday, July 25, 2010. Attendees of the week-long BDF Summer Performing Arts Intensive received first-rate training in acting, dance and vocal performance daily from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. by savvy Broadway veterans who shared their invaluable insider knowledge on the skills needed to make it in show business. Students also learned how to improve their audition skills (song selections and cold readings) and attended classes geared toward college and career planning (headshots and resumes). At week's end, all participants had the opportunity to perform alongside their Broadway idols in a 'one night only' concert event held on Saturday, July 24 at the Holland Performing Arts Center.
