The Broadway Green Alliance has announced the launch of a new virtual learning program in light of the COVID-19 pandemic that has shutdown Broadway and closed theatres across the country. The BGA will host weekly virtual sessions covering a wide range of green topics, hosted by members of the theatre and environmental community.
Syracuse Stage's stunning production of Amadeus under the always meticulous direction of Robert Hupp opened on Friday, March 13, 2020 and also closed on the same night due to the coronavirus outbreak. The decision to suspend the rest of the production's run was a choice that Hupp told the audience a?oewas the right thing to do.a?? Although Governor Cuomo banned gatherings of more than 500 people, the Archbold Theater seats 499 so the board technically had the choice. During the Annual General Meeting held earlier today, the Shaw Festival announced positive financial results for the 2019 season. Kevin Patterson, Treasurer of the Board of Directors, shared with an audience of patrons, donors and company members that both sales and fundraising revenues achieved all-time highs, resulting in a $519,000 season surplus.
