Peggy Baker and Michael Healey Join For ARE YOU OKAY

Peggy Baker Dance Projects, in association with Necessary Angel, presents the world premiere of Are You Okay, a theatre/dance piece created and performed by acclaimed dancer and choreographer Peggy Baker and award-winning playwright and actor Michael Healey, directed by Necessary Angel Artistic Director Daniel Brooks.

Plan-B Theatre Company Announces 2010-11 Season

Today, May 4, Plan-B Theatre Company announced its 2010-11 Season. Productions scheduled include SHE WAS MY BROTHER, as well as the World Premieres of MESA VERDE, BORDERLANDS, and AND THE BANNED SLAMMED ON. The 2010-11 season marks the 20th anniversary of the first Plan-B production in 1991. 12 of the past 15 Plan-B productions have enjoyed sold-out runs. Subscriptions are $87 (a savings of 15% off the single ticket price of $20 per play and $40 for AND THE BANNED SLAMMED ON) go on sale May 3, 2010 at planbtheatre.org.

Philly Improv Festival Announces Sixth Annual Line-Up; Kicks Off New Month of Comedy

The three of the top forces in the local comedy scene have formed the Philadelphia Comedy Collective, and are set to present Comedy Month from November 1-21 at the Philadelphia Shakespeare Theatre, 2111 Sansom Street. This event marks the largest collection of comedy performances in the city outside of the annual Philly Fringe. The month will kick-off with the sixth annual Philadelphia Improv Festival. The festival runs from November 2-6 with multiple shows nightly. The festival is also hosting two special headliner shows Friday, November 5 at the Ethical Society, 1906 Rittenhouse Square.

NJ Playwrights Theatre Presents ACROSS THE WIDE AND LONESOME PRAIRIE, 11/4-11/21

In association with The Growing Stage in Netcong, NJ, Playwrights Theatre is pleased to present ACROSS THE WIDE AND LONESOME PRAIRIE by Julie Jensen. The production (appropriate for ages 8 and up) will preview on November 4 and run for three weeks through November 21, 2010 (Press Opening: Friday, November 5 at 8:00pm). The production will be directed by John Pietrowski and features Jane Keitel and Lori Lawrence. Single tickets are on sale now $25 for adults, $22.50 for seniors, $20 for book clubs and groups of 10 or more, and $15 for students. WTE Presents STINKY FLOWERS AND THE BAD BANANA, 10/7-24

Sinclair, Sam, and Stu discover the audience in their attic. Clearly, these quiet strangers are going to eat them, so they distract the hungry savages by telling them their grandfather's original fairytales. With these vivid, multi-media stories the siblings discover the answer to, 'are we still loved after the person who loved us is gone?'.

Tropper Set For Reading And Book Signing At The Jewish Museum 10/14

A reading and book signing with Jonathan Tropper, author of the best-selling novel, This Is Where I Leave You (Plume, $15), will take place at The Jewish Museum on Thursday, October 14 at 6:30 pm. This Is Where I Leave You is a funny and emotionally raw novel about love, marriage, divorce, family, and the ties that bind, whether we like it or not.
