Broadway Sessions, the MAC award winning, long running musical theatre variety show created and hosted by Ben Cameron is thrilled to announce it's summer residency on Fire Island! Beginning Memorial Day, Monday May 27th, the Broadway Sessions 'Beach Party' will bring Broadway to the beach at the world famous Ice Palace in Cherry Grove. Every Monday from 9-11pm, Ben Cameron and crew welcome a host of Broadway stars and veterans to offer up showtunes and general merriment to the Fire Island community. No cover charge. Audience members are encouraged to take part in open mic and theatre related games. The series will feature dual musical directors Drew Wutke and Kyle Branzel on alternating weeks. Hairspray vet Michelle Dowdy has been confirmed to step in as host on selected dates.

A new Evan is waving through a window at the Music Box Theatre! As BroadwayWorld previously reported, Andrew Barth Feldman, the 16-year-old winner of the Best Actor Award at the 2018 National High School Musical Theatre Awards (known more commonly as the Jimmy Awards), made his Broadway debut as 'Evan Hansen' just over a month ago. Broadway Sessions recently held its 3rd annual Black History Month celebration. We invited an all star roster of Broadway talent to share songs and stories reflecting the influence, impact and legacy of black artists on Broadway and beyond. HOLY MOLY! This was one of the most incredible nights of music we have enjoyed. Beyond that it was moving, hilarious and profound. Enjoy these highlights from Broadway vets Antoine L Smith, Soarer-Joye Ross, Storm Lever, Brennyn Lark, Judith Franklin, Phoenix Best, Elijah Ahmad Lewis, Tiana Okoye, Michel Demby Cain, Imari Hardon, Avery Smith, Nick Rashad Burroughs, Quentin Earl Darrington, Jennie Harney Fleming, John Edwards, Laurissa 'Lala' Romain, Shonica Gooden and Emme Kemp. We also enjoyed performances from 'Rising Stars' Richard Baskin Jr. and Aneesa Folds. OH, and maybe just an impromptu pre show performance by Tony-winning legend FAITH PRINCE! It was a good night.
FEINSTEIN'S/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, presents Phoenix Best in her solo debut on Sunday, March 31 at 9:30pm. Best known for her role as Alana Beck in Dear Evan Hansen on Broadway, and for The Color Purple, makes her Feinstein's/54 Below debut in Phoenix Rising. Following her journey from the beginning, Phoenix will share stories about the shows, people, and musical influences that carried her to a starring role on Broadway. Featuring songs from The Color Purple, Dear Evan Hansen, and Wicked, plus artists like Alicia Keys and Beyonce, and even debut some original music, Phoenix Rising will show how anyone can rise from the ashes. Phoenix will be joined by some of her current and former cast mates.
BROADWAY SESSIONS is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway cast twice monthly. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida, Footloose, Dance Captain Dance Attack web series) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano.
