Daughter of Swords' Debut Album DAWNBREAKER Out Today

In 2017, Alexandra Sauser-Monnig began recording a set of songs about a breakup that had yet to happen. Her partnership had drifted into a comfortable state of indecision, stalling when it came time to make big life moves or chase new horizons. She had the sense that she needed to slip the relationship in order to pursue everything else life might have in store-more music, more adventures, a general sense of the unknown. Those feelings drifted steadily into a set of songs that lamented the inevitable loss but, more important, outlined the promise of the future. Recording the ten tracks that became her stunning solo debut, Dawnbreaker, under the new name Daughter of Swords gave Sauser-Monnig permission to go.

Daniel Norgren Comes To The Fox Theatre

Acclaimed Swedish songwriter Daniel Norgren has announced an upcoming North American Tour, in support of the new release Wooh Dang, out earlier this month on his own Superpuma Records. The tour will see Daniel and his band returning to Chicago, New York, Boston, Toronto, Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland, and Los Angeles. As well as first-time stops in Louisville, Asheville, Nashville, Washington, D.C., Boulder, and at Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion in Tennessee/Virginia. The Blind Boys of Alabama Comes to Marcus Center's Wilson Theater at Vogel Hall

The Blind Boys of Alabama have the rare distinction of being recognized around the world as both living legends and modern-day innovators. They are not just gospel singers borrowing from old traditions; the group helped to define those traditions in 20th century and almost single-handedly created a new gospel sound for the 21st. David Huckfelt of The Pines To Release Solo Debut

– David Huckfelt, the acclaimed leader of The Pines, will release his solo debut, Stranger Angels, on February 22, 2018. Huckfelt wrote the album in solitude as the Artist-In-Residence on Isle Royale, channeling the mysterious and lonesome island's spirits into a stirring thin-place soundtrack. In anticipation of the new album, the band recently  premiered the first single, 'Never Look Back,' with Stereogum. 'Never Look Back' and an additional track, 'If I Knew,' are now available everywhere, as both singles and instant downloads when pre-ordering  Summertime Songs. A national tour will follow the release of the album.
