Based on Richard Powers' novel of the same name, The Time of Our Singing interlockspersonal experiences with historical events whose themes show clear parallels with the recent history of the USA: Black Lives Matter, police brutality and rigged elections accompany the brothers Jonah and Joey Strom on their path through life. Against the background of racial segregation in post-war America, the opera tells of the life of a family with a black mother and a white father.

Acclaimed director Ivo van Hove returns to BAM with Toneelgroep Amsterdam and his second epic Shakespeare adaptation.

As previously announced, the Kennedy Center will present a Barbican and Les Theatres de la Ville de Luxembourg, in association with Toneelgroep Amsterdam, production of ANTIGONE by Sophocles, in a new translation by T.S. Eliot Prize-winning poet Anne Carson from tonight, October 22, through October 25, 2015 in the Kennedy Center Eisenhower Theater.

This week's New York Time's In Performance video features Oscar-winning actress Juliette Binoche in a scene from Sophocles' ANTIGONE which opened on Sunday at the Brooklyn Academy of Music and runs through Oct 4, 2015.

Beginning tonight, Sep 24, and running through Oct 4, 2015, Anne Carson's new translation of ANTIGONE by Sophokles, starring Juliette Binoche in the title role, runs as part of BAM's 2015 Next Wave Festival.

The cast also includes Obi Abili, Kirsty Bushell, Samuel Edward-Cook, Finbar Lynch, Patrick O'Kane, and Kathryn Pogson.

FringeArts presents the U.S. premiere of Toneelgroep Amsterdam's After the Rehearsal/Persona, a centerpiece of the 2015 Fringe Festival and the only U.S. engagement of this stunning work. Two Ingmar Bergman screenplays, After the Rehearsal and Persona, are reimagined for the stage by celebrated Dutch director Ivo van Hove and set designer Jan Versweyveld. This theatrical diptych, with each play delving into the messy lives of theater artists, features deeply emotional and physical performances to match the layered psychological drama of Bergman's texts.
