THE CHILD OF THE PRODUCTS Opens at the Kaaitheatre
Het kind van de smid is een klein epos dat zich afspeelt in de eerste helft van de 19e eeuw en dat drie continenten omspant. Josse De Pauw en regisseur Peter Van Kraaij schetsen aan de hand van het leven van twee halfbroers de exploratie van de noord-westelijke Amerikaanse gebieden, de hongersnood in Ierland en de (straf)kolonisering van Australië. De originele cast met Frank Vercruyssen, Willy Thomas, José Verheire en Josse De Pauw zelf, herenigt zich voor een spetterende herlezing van dit poëtisch en avontuurlijk verhaal. Op een groot scherm worden intussen tekeningen geprojecteerd die beeldend kunstenaar Koenraad Tinel speciaal voor de voorstelling maakte.
