In an interview with the Times of London, Ian McKellan was asked if he'd reprise his role as Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum.

Redd Kross has shared the rousing new single “Born Innocent,” the second song made available from the highly anticipated 18-track eponymous double-album, due for release June 28, 2024. “Born Innocent” appears in the closing credits of the brilliant documentary Born Innocent: The Redd Kross Story, directed by Andrew Reich, who has also directed the video that accompanies the single’s release, which features footage from the must-see documentary. The first film has a tentative title of The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum and will be directed by the Gollum actor, who will also reprise his iconic role from the earlier installments. The film is planned for a 2026 release, with the team already in the early stages of development on the screenplay. Peter Jackson will also return to the franchise as producer alongside Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens.

Their new album – an eponymous double-album, no less, packed with 18 of their sharpest, most addictive songs yet – will hit the racks on June 28, 2024. These years of joyful service to rock’n’roll have seen Redd Kross evolve into a killer pop-rock concern, dealing in dayglo power-chords, choruses as tall as skyscrapers and a lyric sheet thick with acid couplets and arch pop- cultural references their loyal following will gobble up like quaaludes. Disney+ has announced that Let It Be, director Michael Lindsay-Hogg’s original 1970 film about The Beatles, will launch exclusively on Disney+ May 8, 2024. This is the first time the film is available in over 50 years. First released in May 1970 amidst the swirl of The Beatles’ breakup, Let It Be now takes its rightful place in the band’s history.

With a live rendition of the Oscar-winning score by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra and the Philharmonia Chorus, the latest in the Royal Albert Hall’s “films in concert” series brings the The Lord of the Rings epic fantasy saga to a majestic conclusion.

The Bach Festival Choir, Orchestra and Youth Choir will present The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring - Live in Concert at the Walt Disney Theater at the Dr. Phillips Center of the Performing Arts with a full showing of the Oscar winning film on a huge high definition screen accompanied by live orchestra and choir.

The Golden Key for Emerging Talent, given to actors and directors who will be destined to grace our screens for years to come, will be presented to Thomasin McKenzie for her breakout role in the NEON Rated release of EILEEN,  also starring Anne Hathaway and Shea Wigham. The film will screen as the Closing Night film of the festival. 

The Cleveland Orchestra has revealed its movie presentations for the 2024 Blossom Music Festival.

“Now And Then – The Last Beatles Song” is now streaming on Disney+! The 12-minute documentary film, written and directed by Oliver Murray, tells the story behind the last Beatles song “Now And Then,” with exclusive footage and commentary from Paul, Ringo, George, Sean Ono Lennon and Peter Jackson.

The Cleveland Orchestra has announced its full lineup of classical music concerts for its 2023 Blossom Music Festival. The festival, located at Blossom Music Center in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, runs from July 1 to September 9, and features 24 concerts.
