Yesterday, January 6, singer, actress and TV sensation Erika Jayne (Bravo's “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills”) made her Broadway debut in the role of “Roxie Hart” in CHICAGO on Broadway alongside Tony Award-winner and opera star Paulo Szot as “Billy Flynn.”

Tony Award-winner and opera star Paulo Szot will join the Broadway production of Chicago in the role of a?oeBilly Flynna?? at the Ambassador Theatre (219 W. 49th St.).

MasterVoices, led by Artistic Director Ted Sperling, continues its 2019-20 season on January 10 and 11 at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College of Criminal Justice with the New York premiere of Iron & Coal, Jeremy Schonfeld's multimedia rock-opera about his family's experience in the Holocaust and its aftermath. Along with MasterVoices, joining Schonfeld onstage will be distinguished theater artist Rinde Eckert, tenor Daniel Rowan, the Brooklyn Youth Chorus, and the New York-based contemporary music ensemble, Contemporaneous.

Arborhouse Productions & Visceral Entertainment (Michael Chase Gosselin and Tim Sulka) today announced that Max Crumm (Grease, Disaster) will take on the role of the Man In Business Suit Levitating emoji, along with Jacob Dickey (Aladdin Broadway as Aladdin) as Smiling Face with Sunglasses, (aka a?oeSunnya??), Dwelvan David (Finding Neverland & The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess Tours) as Guardsman, Heather Makalani (Aladdin) as Kissy Face, Tanisha Moore (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Tour) as Woman Dancing and Jordan Fife Hunt (A Chorus Line First Revival Tour) as Man Dancing.

Tenor Bruce Sledge will sing Pinkerton in all upcoming November performances of Puccini's Madama Butterfly, replacing Andrea Carè. Sledge made his role debut last Saturday in the Met's Live in HD cinema transmission of the opera, seen by nearly 200,000 people around the world.

The Metropolitan Opera presents Puccini's Madama Butterfly, conducted by Pier Giorgio Morandi, with performances beginning October 11, 2019. Hui He returns to the role of the doomed geisha Cio-Cio-San.

Hui He stars as Cio-Cio-San, the devoted geisha who gives everything for the American naval officer Pinkerton, sung by Andrea Carè. Elizabeth DeShong is her devoted companion Suzuki, and Brazilian baritone Paulo Szot adds a new role to his Met repertory as Sharpless, a role that he has previously sung at Marseilles Opera.

BroadwayWorld has a first look at the Met's MADAMA BUTTERFLY! Leading sopranos Hui He and Ana María Martínez share the heartbreaking title role of the doomed geisha, with tenors Piero Pretti and Andrea Carè as the American naval officer who abandons her. Paulo Szot and Markus Brück share the role of Sharpless, and Elizabeth DeShong is Suzuki, alternating with Maria Zifchak. Pier Giorgio Morandi is on the podium for Anthony Minghella's sweeping production, a perennial audience favorite.

The first three offerings from the Met: Live in HD in the Peterborough Players Arts on Screen season are an opera lover's dream. Two Puccini masterworks and a timeless Massenet classic screen at the Players this October and early November. Broadcast live from the Metropolitan Opera and shown on the big screen at the Players in stunning HD, the programs also include exclusive, behind-the-scenes material that create a one-of-a-kind viewing experience.

The 2019-2020 season of The Met: Live in HD will continue at the Warner Theatre on Saturday, November 9 with Puccini's MADAMA BUTTERFLY at 12:55 pm in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre. The Metropolitan Opera Guild today announced that the honorees of its “Diamond Jubilee” celebration will be luminaries Martina Arroyo and Teresa Stratas.  The Guild's 85th Annual Luncheon will take place on Wednesday, November 20th at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City.  Special remarks by Stephanie Blythe and musical tributes by Ailyn Pérez and Matthew Polenzani will be performed during the event.

Leonard Bernstein's massive musical Mass, led by Tony Award-winner Paulo Szot, will be taped for a national television special to air in 2020.
