I'm Still Here, a new virtual benefit for The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts' Billy Rose Theatre Division, will stream on Broadway On Demand on June 23. The evening is a celebration of the division's 90th Anniversary, and the 50th  Anniversary of its beloved Theatre on Film and Tape Archive and will honor Harold Prince and George C. Wolfe. 

Harris co-wrote A24's Zola with director Janicza Bravo, is developing a pilot at HBO, and worked on their hit new series 'Euphoria.'

As the industry and theater artists grapple with equity and the many issues facing the field, the 2021-2024 Core Writers Mathilde Dratwa, L M Feldman, Franky D. Gonzalez, Yilong Liu, TyLie Shider, Deborah Yarchun, and Nathan Yungerberg will be given the space and support to create over the next three years.

The 2021-2022 McKnight National Residency and Commission has been awarded to James Anthony Tyler and the 2021-2022 McKnight Fellowship in Playwriting recipients are JuCoby Johnson and Cristina Luzárraga.

BARD AT THE GATE will return for an additional two seasons starting this fall when Paula Vogel's virtual start-up partners with McCarter Theatre Center. On this day in 2016, Paula Vogel's acclaimed play Indecent opened at Off-Broadway's Vineyard Theatre, in an acclaimed production directed by Tony Award-winner Rebecca Taichman. The production moved to Broadway the following year.

This Thursday, April 29 (8pm ET) 'Spotlight on Plays' series will continue with Paula Vogel's The Baltimore Waltz, starring Emmy Award winner Eric McCormack, Brandon Burton and Mary-Louise Parker, and directed by Lileana Blain-Cruz.  Paula Vogel's comic and dramatic fantasia based on the love and adventures of a brother and sister, one of whom has a fatal disease. Winner of the 1992 Obie Award for Best New American Play.

The 2021 Yale Drama Series Prize has been awarded to Rachel Lynett who says, 'the seed of the play is two things: One, I wanted to address that the black experience is not monolithic [...] Two, what does it mean when we ask actors to take on all these roles and what's the toll on it for them?'

The 2021 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize has been awarded to U.S. playwright Erika Dickerson-Despenza for her play about the Flint, Michigan water crisis, cullud wattah. Awarded annually since 1977, The Susan Smith Blackburn Prize is the largest and oldest international prize honoring Women+ playwrights.
