AIN'T TOO PROUD – THE LIFE AND TIMES OF THE TEMPTATIONS First National Tour comes to Segerstrom Hall for two weeks, from October 17-29, 2023.

Recently, BroadwayWorld had the chance to sit down and talk with Shelly Berger, the current manager of The Temptations who has been with the group for over sixty years. We discussed what it has been like to see himself portrayed on stage, the journey of Ain’t Too Proud across the pond, and even Berry Gordy’s first reaction to the show!

Get ready for an electric musical performance! Ain’t Too Proud: The Life and Times of the Temptations tells the story of the world’s most famous R&B group. Boasting a whopping 30 songs, robust orchestra, and slick, Tony Award-winning choreography, the show is a spectacle in every sense of the word. 

Continuing the yearlong celebration of Willie Nelson’s 90th birthday, UMe has added two additional titles to its extensive vinyl campaign of the legend’s UMG catalog: on November 10 Willie’s beloved 2001 kid-friendly album, Rainbow Connection, will be released on vinyl for the first time ever and his acclaimed It Always Will Be.

Award winning cabaret artist Michael Kirk Lane is back on the boards on October 16th.

On September 12th, AIN’T TOO PROUD: THE LIFE AND TIMES OF THE TEMPTATIONS presented by Broadway Across Canada premiered at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver. Playing a total of 6 shows with the last being on Sunday September 17th, the touring production of AIN’T TOO PROUD brought the energy, passion, and nostalgia to audiences this week.

Kati Neiheisel brings her love of the Carpenters back to Pangea with an encore performance of Yesterday...Once More, a show celebrating the musical legacy of sibling duo, Karen and Richard Carpenter. With musical direction by Gregory Toroian and directed by Lina Koutrakos, the show includes songs written by Richard Carpenter and John Bettis, Hal David and Burt Bacharach, Paul Williams and Roger Nichols, Leon Russell and more!

Its strength is obviously in its joyous and uncompromising queer nature. McDougall casts it entirely gender-blind, making it a piece where gender doesn’t matter, even though its role is at the very core of it.
