Award-winning actor-singer-comedian Andrea Martin is being celebrated by the Stratford Festival as the 2019 Legacy Award recipient, at a gala to be held on September 23 at Toronto's Four Seasons Hotel.

One of the most anticipated events of the season, the annual Hot Pink Party was hosted by the Breast Cancer Research Foundation (BCRF) on Wednesday, May 15 at the Park Avenue Armory, raising $6 million for breast cancer research. Nothing fills a critic's heart and soul with as much glee as the premiere of a brand-spanking-new musical, heretofore unseen by mortal men (and women). Thus, I'm happy to report that Esther, a new musical that premiered Thursday at Chaffin's Barn Dinner Theatre in an abbreviated four performance run, has some exceptional elements to be found in its two hours of performance time, although clearly there's a lot of work to be done if the show is to have a future outside The Barn.

The first House of Blues opened in Cambridge, Massachusetts on Nov. 26, 1992, and seven years later, House of Blues opened three distinct venues in Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. The music hall, restaurant and bar, and the Foundation Room changed the entertainment scene in Las Vegas combining diverse live shows, delicious food and drink, and an upscale club. The first show featuring Bob Dylan was performed on March 2, 1999, where Dylan brought Bono of U2 on stage.
