This month, Theatre Now is producing staged readings of Derailed! and The Sustain, new musicals developed in their Musical Writers Lab.

Southwest Theatre Productions is proud to announce it's very first international playwriting festival and reading series, presenting the top three chosen plays from a field of about 200 in three staged readings during the month of May.  The playwrights will be in attendance as SWTP features their brand new scripts as well as some of Austin's finest actors.

RANDY WRITES A NOVEL opened Off-Broadway on Monday, April 23 at Theatre Row. The critically acclaimed show played to a sold-out house and runs until June 9.

Last night, January 18th, 2016, Theatre Now New York presented its 3nd Annual festival of new musicals, Sound Bites 3.0 (sponsored by Music Theatre International and Disney Theatrical Productions) to a sold-out house at the 47th Street Theatre. An after-party, sponsored by MTI, was held after at Hurley's Saloon where awards were given. Sound Bites showcases ten 10-minute musicals or musical excerpts in one evening. 'Lady and the Vamp' celebrates female musical theatre songwriters. This concert showcases today's female composers and lyricists, with the goal of visibility and gender equality in musical theatre. These ladies are 'breaking the glissando ceiling' in an evening of wine, women, and song.

DAMN Film Series kicks off January 13th with a screening of four short films at Theaterlab (357 West 36th Street, 3rd Floor) at 7:15 pm.

The York Theatre Company, dedicated to the development of new musicals and preserving musical gems from the past, partners with producers Amy Engelhardt and Heather Shields to present the third installment of the new game show for musical theater lovers called Tune in Time, hosted by Emily McNamara, music direction by Nate Buccieri, with Sheila Head as the annoyingly insistent timekeeper, on Tuesday, November 11 at The York Theatre Company's home at Saint Peters (Citicorp Building, entrance on East 54th Street, just east of Lexington Avenue). The fourth and final installment in the 2014 series is set for Tuesday, December 2. All performances begin at 7:30 p.m.

Urban Momfare has been selected to extend its run at the FringeNYC Encore Series after a critically acclaimed run at the 2014 New York International Fringe Festival in August. Urban Momfare is being produced by Emerging Artists Theatre Company (EAT). A workshop performance of the musical was previously presented at EAT's New Work Series in March of 2013.
