Lori Ann DeLappe-Grondin will direct the play about the often-overlooked heroes of the Women Airforce Service Pilots. The production opens Thursday, April 28, and plays through Saturday, May 7. Performances are at 7:30 p.m. on April 28, 29, 30, May 4, 5 and 6 and 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 1 and Saturday, May 7.
San Diego Repertory Theatre announced the cast and creative team for their upcoming premiere of In Every Generation by Ali Viterbi, directed by Todd Salovey and Emily Moler. The production will run May 26 - June 19 in San Diego REP’s Lyceum Space, with previews running May 26 - 31 and press opening on Wednesday, June 1 at 7pm. Premiere Stages, the professional theatre company in residence at Kean University, has selected its four finalists for the 2022 Premiere Play Festival. Now in its 17th year, the Festival is an annual competition for unproduced scripts that offers developmental opportunities to playwrights with strong affiliations to New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Delaware. This year's finalists were selected from 655 submissions.
The Muny announced today that Laila Fantroy and Gabe Cytron will star as Jane and Michael Banks in the high-flying production of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins, July 5-13, 2022. Fantroy is a rising eighth grader at Christ the King Catholic School and Cytron is a rising ninth grader at Parkway High School. Both actors are part of the Muny Kids program. Mary Poppins is directed by John Tartaglia, choreographed by Patrick O’Neill, with music direction by Brad Haak.
Boston Playwrights' Theatre announces the in-person return of its annual celebration of new short plays. Boston Theater Marathon XXIV will feature 50 ten-minute plays written by New England playwrights and presented by New England theatre companies. The event will take place in BPT's home theatre on Boston University's West Campus.
