Apollo Theater Celebrates Classic Girl Groups with Martha Reeves, Sarah Dash, & Joshie Jo Armstead. The Apollo Theater's Education Program brought together three legendary artists for She's A Rebel! A Tribute to Girl Groups of the 50s, 60s, & 70s on November 14, 2019. Presented as part of Apollo Education's 'Apollo Live Wire' discussion series, led by Senior Director of Education Shirley Taylor, the evening featured a lively panel discussion with founding members of groundbreaking girl groups, including Martha Reeves (Martha Reeves & the Vandellas), Sarah Dash (Patti LaBelle & the Bluebelles), and Joshie Jo Armstead (The Ikettes).

Kimberly Nichole to Release First Single 'The Witch'

Singer, Kimberly Nichole is dropping the first single entitled “The Witch” from her new unreleased album “West Coast Seattle Girl” on Halloween, Thursday, October 31st, 2019. The new single is Kimberly's homage to her life as a night-life, wild child. The song is also a remake of her hometown garage band pioneers, The Sonics', major hit “The Witch” from the 1970s.

Now in its 73rd year, the Limon Dance Company continues to garner fresh interest for its performances of both new works and American classics.  The May 29-June 2 season at The Joyce Theater will feature two Limon classics: The Moor's Pavane and Psalm, along with The Weather in the Room by company Artistic Director Colin Connor with guest artists Miki Orihara and Stephen Pier; and Radical Beasts in the Forest of Possibilities by guest choreographer Francesca Harper, with an original score composed and performed live by Nona Hendryx.
