Joe's Pub at The Public presents the North American premiere of Murray Hill: About To Break, a new comedy and theatrical event, running September 20-22 and 27-29. About To Break is written and performed by Hill and directed and developed with Tony Award-winning lyricist, writer, and director Scott Wittman. Renowned as a comic host around the world, this new show is a departure, putting Hill center stage in the first major dedicated solo show of his long, storied career. Musical direction is by Paul Leschen with original music by Hill with Wittman, Marc Shaiman, Kyle Forrester, Eric Kornfeld, Jesse Elder, and Leschen.

ISLE of KLEZBOS, the swinging all-women's klezmer sextet, will celebrate their 20th Anniversary with a special concert Isle of Klezbos: Isle of Manhattan! at Joe's Pub on Thursday, October 25 at 7:00 PM featuring returning guest artist Natalia Zukerman. The band and spellbinding singer-songwriter - whose father, the classical violinist Pinchas Zukerman, is the son of a Polish-born klezmer player - first melded musical minds earlier this year, exploring poignant Yiddish roots and hidden gems from vintage soundtracks, personal histories, vivid resistance narratives, and soulful sounds of liberation. Spreading joy coast to coast this anniversary year, ISLE of KLEZBOS  latest repertoire also features original klezmer bugalu (boogaloo), lesser-known bawdy traditionals, and luscious retakes on irresistible Eastern European swing and tango. Natalia brings vibrant stories and tunes from her powerful multi-media performance, "The Women Who Rode Away," including lush arrangements with backing Klezbos bandmates. MAX VERNON - the songwriter described by The New Yorker as 'equal parts Bohemia and Broadway' - will launch his first ever residency at Joe's Pub at The Public this fall, Existential Life Crisis Lullaby, on Tuesday, September 25 at 7:00 PM with special musical guests Tonya Pinkins, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Annie Golden, MJ Rodriguez, Gizel Jimenez, Chrissi Poland, Veronica Swift, Morgan Meadows, and Avery Leigh Draut. The September evening will be directed by Ellie Heyman.

This September, Joe's Pub at The Public kicks off its 20th Anniversary year, celebrating two decades of presenting the best in live music and performance nightly with a commitment to diversity, production values, community, and artistic freedom. The fall season is comprised of Joe's Pub debuts like Max Vernon and The Tiger Lillies; familiar faces like Justin Vivian Bond, John Kelly, and Shaina Taub; and two New York Voices commissions: Refrigerated Dreams, a collaboration from Nona Hendryx and Carrie Mae Weems, and Murray Hill's About To Break, directed by Scott Wittman. There will also be a change in leadership at Joe's Pub - Alex Knowlton will become Director of Joe's Pub, as Shanta Thake will inaugurate a new role at The Public Theater as Senior Director of Artistic Programs.

MAX VERNON will launch his first ever residency at Joe's Pub at The Public this fall. MAX VERNON: Existential Life Crisis Lullaby will be performed Tuesday nights, September 25, October 23 and November 27, all at 7:00 PM.

Producer Diana DiMenna (The Great Comet, Three Tall Women) is proud to announce that The Public Theater production of Black Light will return to New York this fall for a limited engagement at the Greenwich House Theater (27 Barrow Street). Performances will begin September 24 and run through December 31, with an opening night of October 10.

Due to popular demand, CLASSIC WHITNEY: ALIVE! 'The Greatest Hits: Volumes 1 & 2' will serve four nights with two different shows and set lists! 'The Greatest Hits: Volume 1' will be performed on Sunday, August 5 and Monday, August 13 with 'The Greatest Hits: Volume 2' on Monday, August 6 and Sunday, August 12.

Following the release in 2016 of their highly acclaimed album Come Together - Barb Jungr and John McDaniel Perform The Beatles, the ferociously talented, award-winning duo have two collaborations arriving imminently on both sides of the pond.

Acclaimed jazz singer Sara Gazarek will make her Feinstein's at the Nikko debut on Thursday, July 12 at 8 p.m. In this intimate evening, Gazarek will perform songs from her albums 'Dream in the Blue,' 'Blossom & Bee,' and 'Return to You,' as well as other fan favorites. Gazarek will be joined on-stage by pianist Peter Eldridge of New York Voices.

Joe's Pub at The Public and Village Alliance join forces to officially launch Joe's Pub @ Astor Place, a summer series comprised of three free outdoor concerts on the pedestrian plaza of Astor Place. The series includes the venue's annual showcase for the city-wide music festival Make Music New York on June 21, a Friday Night Cabaret on July 27 where funk rock legend Nona Hendryx will host her very own Black Tar Beach Party, and Astor Alive! on September 22. All events are free and open to the public.

ENSEMBLE THEATRE COMPANY is thrilled to announce the fifth and final show of its 2017-2018 Season, a musical about the extraordinary life of an extraordinary woman. Infused with jazz and blues, COOKIN' AT THE COOKERY: The Music And Times Of Alberta Hunter, written, directed and choreographed by Marion J. Caffey with music direction by George Caldwell, begins previews on Thursday, June 7, opens on Saturday, June 9, and runs through Sunday, June 24, 2018 at The New Vic, 33 W. New York Youth Symphony (NYYS), is proud to continue its mission of providing an outstanding music education and performance opportunities to students between the ages of 12-22 by launching a new Musical Theater Composition program aimed at diversifying the world of musical theater. The new director and performance information is expected to be announced in summer 2018. Also new in 2018/19 the NYYS Orchestra and Chamber Music Programs will tour together for the first time ever to Spain in 2019, where they will explore cities including Madrid, Granada, and Seville.
