Pan Asian Repertory Theatre announces the line-up for NuWorks 2019, an annual experimental series that features new work from emerging artists who explore different genres and techniques with a diversity of voices, topics, and types of art to be presented during the World Pride Week in New York City.
On Saturday, July 6, Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) continues its Jazz Masters music series with the Marshall McDonald Jazz Project featuring McDonald, a 30-year veteran of the New York jazz scene, and his band. Joining McDonald will be James Weidman on piano, Nori Naraoka on bass, and George Coleman Jr. on drums. The band will perform two sets at 7:30 and 9 pm at WCT, 23 Water Street in Ossining.
Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director/CEO) is thrilled to announce the newest addition to the artistic team: Directing Fellow Cristina Angeles. Angeles is the fourth Roundabout Directing Fellow; this season she will assist on Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, work with the theatre's artistic team as a script reader, and use Roundabout's resources to develop her own projects.

Coming this summer to Catskill's adventurous Bridge Street Theatre - its first attempt at producing a full-scale summer musical! But, true to form, it's a pretty off-beat one: Joy Gregory and Gunnar Madsen's acclaimed Off-Broadway hit "The Shaggs: Philosophy of the World". It is based on the true story of three sisters from rural New Hampshire whose father forced them to form a rock band, and who recorded an album back in 1969 which has since become a cult classic. "The Shaggs" will play for eight performances only, Thursdays through Sundays July 11-21, in BST's intimate 84-seat Mainstage.

The season will kick off October 3, 2019 with the world premiere of Of the woman came the beginning of sin and through her we all die by Lily Houghton, directed by Kylie M. Brown. Following will be another world premiere: Indoor Person by Kayla Martine, directed by Andrew Garrett, which begins performances February 19, 2020. The season will finish with The Book of Grace by Suzan-Lori Parks, directed by Shariffa Ali, which returns to New York for the first time since the 2010 run at The Public. The Parks revival begins performances April 23, 2020. Casts and creative teams will be announced at a later date.

DANCE NOW announces the lineup for the 2019 DANCE NOW Festival. Bay Street Theater is pleased to announce a fourth bonus show for the 2019 Mainstage Season entitled My Witch: The Stories of Margaret Hamilton (July 17-21). The show is a new play by John Ahlin which is about the life of Margaret Hamilton, who played the Wicked Witch of the West in The Wizard of Oz. Will Pomerantz, Bay Street's Associate Artistic Director, is directing the production. Will also directed the sellout smash Evita last summer at Bay Street Theater. Margaret Hamilton is portrayed by Jean Tafler (The Deadly Spawn and Una: A Dark Faerie Tale).
On Saturday, June 1, Westchester Collaborative Theater (WCT) continues its Jazz Masters music series with internationally known, Grammy-nominated musician Enrique Haneine whose album, The Mind's Mural, reached #1 on the NACC Top 30 Jazz Charts. Haneine and his band will be appearing for two sets at 7:30 and 9 pm. Accompanying Haneine on piano and Udu Drum will be Jeff Lederer on sax, Pat Hall on trombone and euphonium, Melisa Slocum on upright bass and John Clay on drums.
