Kansas City Actors Theatre has announced Season 2 of Kansas City Actors Radio Theatre (“KCART”) beginning on Friday, May 14. Featuring metro area actors and theatre artists, KCART is broadcast on 90.1 FM KKFI Fridays at noon and available online through most major podcast distribution platforms.

After the shocking cliffhanger in the last episode of “Kansas City: 1924,” what seems like a break in the weather may turn out to be just be the eye of the storm. In episode 5, “Baseball Season,” the turf war between Ma Pritchett and Joey Giovanni threatens to spiral out of control as we learn what has become of Rose and George.

Spinning Tree Theatre announces the 10th anniversary season of plays and musicals, featuring 3 Kansas City premieres and the local-cast premiere of a hit Off-Broadway musical. Onstage headliners include Vanessa Severo, Nedra Dixon and Illeana Kirven. Directors Heidi Van and Jeff Church make their Spinning Tree debuts in the new season, which includes recent works by Quiara Alegría Hudes (In the Heights; Pulitzer Prize for Water by the Spoonful) and Terrence McNally (Tony Awards for Love! Valour! Compassion! and Master Class).

The adaption was written by Kate Hamill and is a farce on the romantic novel which has become one of the most popular selling over 20 million copies.

Kansas City Repertory Theatre artistic staff announced today that they will extend the run of Kate Hamill's PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, the multiple award-winning production, directed by KCRep's recently-departed Associate Artistic Director, Marissa Wolf.  Based on the novel by Jane Austen, Hamill's hilarious, gender-bending reimagining of arguably Austen's most beloved book, begins previews on March 22 and extends its run through April 20 at Spencer Theatre on the UMKC campus.

Spinning Tree Theatre announces the 3rd Annual Guild Scholarship, sponsored by the company's Guild and administered by the Artistic Committee. In keeping with their mission of educational development in the live theatre arts, Spinning Tree created this scholarship fund in 2017 to assist area high school seniors in pursuing higher education. The 2019 award is a one-time $1,000 scholarship.

The Spinning Tree Theatre production of 'Once On This Island' at the Off Broadway Theatre is ninety minutes of your life worth devoting to some excellent vocal performances and some great dance. The plotline is a little involved, but the experience is so much fun you don't care.
