The New Jersey City University Center for the Arts presents the 7th Annual NJCU Alumni Jazz Big Band Concert on Friday, September 6 at 6 p.m. on the J. Owen Grundy Pier, Exchange Place, in Jersey City. Conducted by Professor Emeritus Richard Lowenthal, this free concert features trumpeter Wynton Marsalis and vocalists Allan Harris and Antoinette Montague.

Patsy Cline's trailblazing spirit is remembered in a?oeMy Patsy Cline Songbook,a?? the first-ever, full-length jazz tribute album arriving August 23, 2019.  Drawing on her country roots, vocalist Staci Griesbach's debut album explores looking at the Nashville Songbook as another treasure trove to consider reinterpreting for jazz, much like the traditional Great American Songbook.

Jim Caruso's Cast Party will make it's Nashville debut on Saturday, September 7 at 8pm. The 'extreme open mic,' hosted by Caruso and accompanied by Billy Stritch, will take place at The Franklin Theatre (419 Main Street, Franklin, TN).

Award-winning director and choreographer Jonathan Cerullo (The Boys from Syracuse, Big Apple Circus), has been named an Artistic Associate at Amas Musical Theatre. Donna Trinkoff announced Cerullo will be joining SDC director and choreographer Christopher Scott and Lynne Taylor-Corbett.

Jim Caruso's Cast Party stormed Las Vegas for one night only, on Friday, July 26. The a?oeextreme open mic,a?? which celebrates musical and variety talent, returned to Myron's Cabaret Jazz at The Smith Center. 

John Storie is musician / showman with a true comical wit, and abundant skills on the guitar. His new album'Ponderosa' is a folksy throwback to his early days, and some swinging straight ahead jazz. He recorded the album so it would hold different guitar sounds, texture and vocals. He is a longtime showman with much to sing about.

Ashkenaz is closing its Woodstock celebration with an exclusive preview of an original one-woman musical theatrical production that showcases the enduring legacy of the Woodstock generation.  Giants of jazz and the next generation of stars highlight New Jersey Performing Arts Center's (NJPAC) spectacular jazz performances for the 2019-2020 season. This year will mark the eighth annual TD James Moody Jazz Festival which will consist of diverse performances from Nov. 9 - 24.
