Berkeley Repertory Theatre has announced casting for the world premiere production of the ripple, the wave that carried me home by Christina Anderson, directed by Jackson Gay, and produced in association with Goodman Theatre. 

The Acting Company's Artistic Director Kent Gash and Managing Director Erik Schroeder have announced casting for the national tours of The Three Musketeers and Romeo and Juliet launching in New York City and playing over 27 engagements in 16 states.

The Acting Company’s 50th Anniversary Gala celebrated the company’s impact across America and new artistic vision for the future on Monday, June 13, 2022 at Capitale in New York City.

 The Acting Company has announced the Actors’ Career Stability Initiative program for the 2022-23 season. With support from the Booth Ferris Foundation, all actors who accept a casting offer to join the 2022-23 national touring season and have a minimum of $10,000 in student loan debt will be eligible to apply for student loan debt relief.

The Acting Company has announced a celebration of the company’s half century of impact across America with a 50th Anniversary Gala to take place on Monday, June 13, 2022 at Capitale (130 Bowery).

Theater J and Mosaic Theater, both located in Washington, DC, are collaborating to produce an evening of short Ukrainian plays benefiting Ukrainian charities. The in-person event, consisting of readings of short contemporary plays, will be held on Thursday, April 28, 2022, at 8:00 pm at the Edlavitch DC Jewish Community Center (1529 16th Street NW, Washington DC). The evening will raise funds for Ukrainian causes and highlight the plight of artists in Ukraine while showcasing the plays. Some of these plays were commissioned, written, and translated just in the last few weeks, and are based on what the playwrights are currently experiencing in their war-torn country.

The Acting Company has announced the return of The Louanna O. Carlin & John MacDonald Reading Series with Kia Corthron’s Sam’s Coming, which will receive a public reading on Monday, April 18 at 7:30 PM at The Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street).

The WP Theater has announced the creative teams for the 2022 Pipeline Festival, the fourth biennial showcase of the artists in its celebrated WP Lab residency for playwrights, directors, and producers, as well as the cast for the first project, They Came in The Night.

American Blues Theater has announced it will purchase a 17,965 square foot property in Chicago's Lincoln Avenue North Arts District and launch “Our First Home” campaign. This will establish the first permanent home for American Blues, a nationally recognized, award-winning non-profit AEA theater.

WP Theater has announced the 2022 lineup for The Pipeline Festival, the fourth biennial showcase of the artists in its celebrated WP Lab residency for playwrights, directors, and producers.

Today, the New Victory Theater announced that tickets are now on sale for all of their live Spring 2022 productions, which will include a mix of in-person and virtual offerings. 

Roundabout Theatre Company has announced the tenth annual Roundabout Underground Reading Series, a four-night event that includes nightly readings of new works written by emerging artists. The Reading Series will feature new works by Liz Appel, Noah Diaz, Daria Miyeko Marinelli and York Walker. The Roundabout Underground Reading Series is January 18 - 21, 2022 at 5:00PM at the Five Angels Theater (789 Tenth Avenue).

The new season includes three New York Premieres and two brand new digital commissions, as they continue to roll out culturally centered programs throughout 2021. In addition, NBT is announcing the fifth Soul Producing Resident, Jordan Flemming, who will be in residence at NBT during this upcoming season.

The new festival will showcase brand new plays from four playwrights: Boni B. Alvarez, Jason Grasl, Nambi E. Kelley, and Giovanni Ortega. Top directors from around the nation will also join these writers.

In response to national conversations on racial justice and equality, Atlanta's Alliance Theatre will produce THE NEW PLAY FEST'S HANDS UP: SEVEN PLAYWRIGHTS, SEVEN TESTIMENTS as part of its Hertz Stage series, October 8 – 31, 2021. 

Chicago Children's Theatre, Chicago's largest professional theater company devoted exclusively to children and young families, will launch its 2021-2022 “Season of Resilience” this fall not with public performances, but in-school ROAR Residencies (Residencies of Arts and Resilience), developed with the Lurie Center for Childhood Resilience, to support kindergartners and first graders returning to school after a year of COVID.

Today, New Victory announced their upcoming 2021-22 season, which will include holiday performances of Jim Henson's Emmet Otter's Jug-Band Christmas, directed by Christopher Gattelli (NEWSIES). This season will see a return to in-person performances at the New Victory Theater, as well as the opportunity for guests to stream the season in their homes.

This August, the historic National Black Theatre will premiere a powerful production that was first introduced in 2015 following a series of state violence that plagued America, as a radio play. HANDS UP: 7 PLAYWRIGHTS, 7 TESTAMENTS  will have its radio play American premiere directed by Jonathan McCrory, NBT’s Executive Artistic Director.

New 42 has announced their slate of upcoming summer programming. Highlights include New Victory Dance Jams, live, interactive dance engagement as part of this season’s New Victory Dance, the annual summer series serving New York summer schools and camps in all five boroughs of New York City with free dance performances, and a New Victory at Little Island programming partnership featuring New Victory LabWorks and Teaching Artists. 

Ford's Theatre today announced the launch of The Lincoln Legacy Commissions—a new play development initiative for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) playwrights that explores racial history and social justice in the United States and gives voice to lesser-known historical figures and their contributions to American life. Playwrights Pearl Cleage, Rickerby Hinds, Nambi E. Kelley, Dominic Taylor and Charlayne Woodard comprise the inaugural writers of The Lincoln Legacy Commissions.
