Metta Theatre Announces 2020 Lineup

Metta Theatre a?" one of the UK's leading mid-scale touring theatre companies a?" has six new British musicals in progress, all being developed and showcased around the UK throughout the first half of 2020. Established in 2005 by Poppy Burton-Morgan and Motley trained Designer William Reynolds, Metta Theatre is at the forefront of new work - with a strong focus on the development of new British musical theatre, and a commitment to highlighting climate justice and sustainability; disability and deaf integration and inclusion (both from a political perspective and in order to artistically enrich the work); queering mainstream and family theatre - writing characters that represent and normalise (rather than problematise) the diverse range of queer experiences and identities; re-gendering protagonists in order to give girls strong female role models.

Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Presents Feature Film Prize to Tesla

At a reception at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival today, the beneficiaries of $70,000 in grants from Sundance Institute and the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation were revealed. Doron Weber, Vice President and Program Director at the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation presented the Alfred P. Sloan Feature Film Prize to Tesla and announced the new winners: Tim Delaney for The Plutonians (Sundance Institute | Sloan Commissioning Grant); Kiran Deol for Tidal Disruption (Sundance Institute | Sloan Development Fellowship); and Courtney Smith for Higher (Sundance Institute | Sloan Episodic Fellowship). Michael Almereyda's Tesla was formally presented with a $20,000 check for winning the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Feature Film Prize, as previously announced.

TBS Greenlights LOST RESORT

TBS has greenlit Lost Resort, an upstairs/downstairs look at the booming subculture of exotic wellness retreats. Produced by ITV America's Sirens Media, the 10-episode unscripted series follows a group of strangers who are immersed in a three-week-long Costa Rican retreat led by a colorful team of alternative healers. From a married couple on the brink, to a mother/daughter pair with serious trust issues and a hothead with a painful past, the guests come from all walks of life hoping to leave transformed. At their breaking points and fed up with traditional Western therapies, they'll experience everything from rage rituals and shamanic cacao ceremonies to orgasmic dance. But the drama only intensifies between sessions as this motley crew hooks up, breaks up and opens up in ways they'd never expect.

A New Season of Concerts is Coming to BRIC

BWW Interview: Hannah Rose Caton in TWELFTH NIGHT at Two River Theater

Two River Theater is now presenting William Shakespeare's romantic comedy 'Twelfth Night' directed by Sara Holdren with original songs composed by the band/theater collective, The Lobbyists. As a motley crew of community members collectively tries to absorb the shockwaves of what's happening outside (the Washington Heights riots), they must individually bear witness to each other, as well as to their own fears, biases, and the need for personal strength amidst relentless violence, shared vulnerability, and dwindling resources.

September Mourning Releases New VOLUME III EP

September Mourning are giving their fans a holiday treat with the release of an animated video for 'Overdose' as they simultaneously launch their new 'Volume III' EP. The collection also includes an additional new song 'Madness'. Rounding out the EP are an uncensored version of 'Unholy' and 'Hiding From Heaven'. The band has just announced a new round of tour dates that start in February (see below).

The Stadium Tour Summer 2020: Mötley Crüe, Def Leppard, with Poison and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts Adds Additional Dates

With over 700,000 tickets sold and gross box office receipts of over $90 million in the first weekend of sales, The Stadium Tour featuring Def Leppard and Motley Crue with Poison and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts will be the biggest rock tour of 2020.  The tour saw the fastest sell out in Miller Park history in Milwaukee with additional shows selling out instantly in Atlanta, Seattle, Charlotte, Dallas, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Chicago and Denver.  The bands responded to the unprecedented fan demand by announcing SEVEN new shows will be added in all new cities:  San Antonio, Kansas City, St. Louis, Minneapolis, Nashville, Cincinnati and Cleveland.  Produced by Live Nation, the added tour dates will begin pre-sales January 6th, check local venue listings for timing and more details.
