Fahy, Durand Led UNAUTHORIZED AUTOBIOGRAPHY OF SAMANTHA BROWN Opens at Goodspeed

Fresh from their hit Broadway turns, Meghann Fahy (Next to Normal) and Andrew Durand (Spring Awakening) join the cast of The Unauthorized Autobiography of Samantha Brown. Talkin' Broadway calls the show's writing team of Kait Kerrigan and Brian Lowdermilk 'the most important young writers in musical theatre today.' This original musical for Broadway's next generation will run from August 4 through 28, 2011 at The Norma Terris Theatre in Chester, Conn., Goodspeed's home for developing new works.

Reeve Carney and Band Set to Open for U2's '360 Tour' Tonight

Carney, the band that plays onstage for SPIDER-MAN Turn Off the Dark and whose lead singer, Reeve Carney, is the show's star, will open for U2 this summer. As per the band's website, 'Carney will be joining U2 for the last date of their epic 360° Tour alongside Arcade Fire at Magnetic Hill in Moncton, New Brunswick on July 30th 2011'. Rosie O'Donnell's OWN Show Switches to Entertainment-Based Format

According to USA Today, Rosie O'Donnell's upcoming talk show for the OWN network has switched time slots, and thus will change up the overall concept of the show. On the show's new 7PM spot, O'Donnell commented: 'we can't do an hour focusing on autism. It'll be fun, games, entertainment, variety.'

Photo Coverage: MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET Re-opens at New World Stages

MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET resumed performances yesterday, July 28, at New World Stages after closing on Broadway on June 12, 2011. MILLION DOLLAR QUARTET played nearly 500 performances on Broadway and won a Tony Award and an Outer Critics Circle Award, and received Tony nominations for Best Musical and Best Book of a Musical, a Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Musical Revue and three Drama League nominations including Distinguished Production of a Musical and two Distinguished Performance nominations. Olympia Dukakis and Lisa Peterson Host Hero Theatre's THREE SISTERS Reading, 8/8

HERO Theatre's first production will be on Monday August 8, 2011, 7PM at the Baryshnikov Arts Center. Hosted by Academy?award winner Olympia Dukakis, the newly formed company will present a special staged reading of Anton Chekhov's 'Three Sisters' directed by Obie?award winner Lisa Peterson.

Cast members from the critically acclaimed first national tour of HAIR: The American Tribal Love-Rock Musical, now on Broadway at the St. James Theatre for a 'Summer of Love' run, held a 'Be-In' performance to benefit Broadway Impact and help celebrate the recent victory for marriage equality in New York state on Sunday, July 24th at 9:00 p.m. Rockwood Music Hall in NYC (196 Allen Street). July 24 also marked the first day gay couples in New York State can legally wed.

Bradley Dean Joins THE FANTASTICKS 7/25

Bradley Dean, who recently appeared as Carl-Magnus opposite Bernadette Peters in the Broadway revival of A Little Night Music, will begin performances as El Gallo, the charming and manipulative narrator in The Fantasticks, on Monday, July 25, 2011. Edward Watts, who currently plays the role, will give his final performance on July 24.

Andrea McArdle to Hold ANNIE Master Class at Broadway Artists Alliance, 7/25

With Annie returning to Broadway in 2012, Broadway Artists Alliance of New York City will present the second of several Annie-themed master classes. They are thrilled to announce that Broadway's original Annie, Andrea McArdle, will be leading the class on Monday, July 25th. A representative from Telsey & Co., the casting directors for the revival, will also be present to lead an audition technique class. Space is limited, and only a few spots remain available.

The best of Broadway is being presented FREE on six consecutive Thursdays this summer with '106.7 Lite fm's Broadway in Bryant Park 2011' - a lunchtime series that began on Thursday July 7th on the Bryant Park Stage. Sponsored by Bank of America, and Clean Air NY, and hosted by Lite fm's on-air personalities, the eleventh annual presentation of open-air, On- and Off- Broadway lunch hour performances runs through August 11th.

Anthony Rapp, Julia Murney, et al. Set for FREE TO DREAM Concert Tonight & Tomorrow

This summer, Broadway actors Darlene Love, Julia Murney, Anthony Rapp and Matt Dengler star in 'Free to Dream: New Songs for the American Journey,' a concert specially adapted for Colonial Williamsburg. Television personality Willard Scott also lends his recorded voice to the program, which showcases the people and places that make up the fabric of America with musical styles from country, rock and pop to swing and the blues. It is a compilation of pieces by Grammy-winning composer Doug Katsaros and two-time Emmy-nominated lyricist William Schermerhorn. A nine-piece band accompanies the singers.

Chad Kimball to Take Hiatus from MEMPHIS Due to Injury; No Plans to Return Yet

BroadwayWorld has learned that MEMPHIS star Chad Kimball will take an indefinite hiatus from the Tony-winning show beginning October 23, 2011 due to nerve damage he's suffered in his neck as a result of performing the demanding role of 'Huey Calhoun' eight nights a week. Kimball created the role 'Huey' and has been bringing him to life at the Shubert Theatre for nearly two years. The nerve damage began to create problems for Kimball a couple of months ago, and he has missed several performances since.

Stephanie D’Abruzzo, Christine Pedi, et al. Set for SIMPLY STREISAND, 8/10 & 24

The Laurie Beechman Theatre is very pleased to announce two very special performances of a brand new venture, SIMPLY STREISAND, a celebration of Ms. Barbra Streisand, her legendary career and the music she made famous. SIMPLY STREISAND will take place for two very special performances only, Wednesdays, August 10 and 24 @ 7pm. The Laurie Beechman Theatre is located within The West Bank Cafe, 407 West 42nd St., in the heart of New York's theatre district. Anthony Rapp, Sam Underwood, et al. Set for 3D HAMLET

Anthony Rapp, Scott Adist, Jon McCormick, Nicola Murphy, Spencer Aste, Jeffrey Omura, Jennifer Van Dyck, Jonathan Walker and Sam Underwood are set to star in '3D Hamlet: A Lost Generation.' The film, presented by Fundamental Theater Project, will play the The Irish Arts Center, July 21-24.
