The Path Fund, Inc. has just announced that Drama Desk Award nominee Cheryl Freeman (The Civil War, The Who's Tommy), Billy Porter (Angels in America, Ghetto Superstar) and Gerry MacIntyre (Once on this Island) will appear in the 18th edition of ROCKERS ON BROADWAY set to take the stage of the Midtown Theatre @ HA! (163 West 46th Street, NYC) for two shows (7:00 PM and 10:00 PM) on Monday October 31, 2011 with proceeds benefitting The Broadway Dreams Foundation, Broadway in South Africa and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

The annual Primary Stages November Night to Remember Gala, a fundraiser benefiting the extensive artistic development programs offered by the company, will be held at the Edison Ballroom (240 west 47th Street, between Broadway & 8th Avenue) on Wednesday, November 9, 2011. Cocktail Reception and Silent Auction begin at 6:30 p.m. Broadway producer David Richenthal (Pulitzer winners The Kentucky Cycle, The Young Man from Atlanta, I am my Own Wife) serves as the Event Chair.

Roundabout Theatre Company is presenting three-time Tony Award winner Frank Langella as 'Gregor Antonescu' in Terence Rattigan's drama Man and Boy, directed by Maria Aitken. Man and Boy began previews on September 9th and opened officially last night, October 9th, 2011 at the American Airlines Theatre on Broadway. This is a limited engagement through November 27, 2011. The second annual Karaoke Classic benefit will feature the talents of John Gallagher Jr., Rebecca Naomi Jones, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Taylor Trensch, Betty Gilpin, Jessica Hecht, and Grace McLean. The benefit is chaired by Keenan-Bolger, Rightor Doyle and Mamie Gummer.

The Amoralists' Hotel Lounge Happy Hour series featured a performance by Michael Cerveris and his band Loose Cattle on September 30 at The Gershwin Hotel (7 East 27 Street) in New York City. Cerveris, star of the upcoming Broadway production of Evita, was joined on stage by band members Kimberly Kaye, Lorenzo Wolf, Eddie Zwiebeck and Gabriel Caplan.

On Sunday, October 2nd between 8:30AM-9AM Sutton Foster will be interviewed on CBS2 'News Sunday Morning' on channel 2 in New York.

The Ritz Bar and Lounge is set to present UnTucked and UnCensored on Sunday October 2nd at 11pm.

All performances at Philadelphia's Kimmel Center have been cancelled due to the International Association of Theatrical Stage Employees initiated strike against them. Kimmel Center's contracts with IATSE, which represents ushers, box office personnel, stagehands and wardrobe employees, expired on Saturday, October 1.

On Sunday, October 2nd between 8:30AM-9AM Sutton Foster will be interviewed on CBS2 'News Sunday Morning' on channel 2 in New York.

First reported by the Toronto Star this afternoon was news that Tony-winner Idina Menzel would be filming her second PBS special in Toronto on November 17-18 with the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony at Koerner Hall. Now, as an addition to her interview with BroadwayWorld.com earlier this week, the star tells us exclusively that 'I feel really flattered and honored that PBS has asked me to film my concert. We were looking for the perfect venue and the perfect night with the perfect audience, and the stars are aligning for Toronto. I'm really excited about that because when you're performing when the cameras are running and the red light is going you feel the pressure of doing your absolute best performance that you've had all year because this time it's being recorded. You want to feel like the audience is behind you and Toronto has been very, very supportive in the past.'

Last night, The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) held its opening night Gala hosted by Emmy and Three-Time Tony Award Winner Robert Lopez (The Book of Mormon, Avenue Q). BroadwayWorld was there and brings you photo coverage below!

Les Enfants de Paris hosted an evening of cabaret featuring performances by Mira Stroika, The Hot Sardines, and the cast of the upcoming NYMF show Les Enfants..., including Jed Resnick (Avenue Q), Nadine Malouf (York Theatre's Only A Kingdom) and Fleur herself, Megan Reinking (Million Dollar Quartet, Hair, Boardwalk Empire).

TVGuide.com is reporting that Broadway veteran and Daytime Emmy Winner Susan Lucci will serve as a guest host for the September 23rd episode of ABC's The View. Lucci has graced the great white way as the star of Annie Get Your Gun.

Broadway Rocks for Kids, a one-night-only event to benefit arts education programming for children of the Northeast, is set for Monday, September 19, at Drom in the East Village. The evening will include live entertainment and premium raffle prizes. Guests will also have the option of purchasing food and drink.

Paul A. Schaefer, Kyle Barisich and Elizabeth Welch, members of the Broadway cast of 'Phantom of the Opera,' will be the opening act at The Louis Armstrong Center for Music & Medicine's 2011 What A Wonderful World Award to be held at Beth Israel Medical Center on Monday, September 19, 2011. Honorees include music legend and actor Levon Helm, Dr. Marvin McMillen, and classical guitarist and Beth Israel patient and volunteer Andrew Schulman.
