The Theatre World Awards celebrated the 2022 Theatre World Award Honorees, a special 'Outstanding Ensemble' Award to 21 cast members making their Broadway debut in the Broadway Revival of The Music Man, the 13th Annual Dorothy Loudon Award for Excellence in the Theater Honoree Michael Oberholtzer, and the 9th Annual John Willis Award for Lifetime Achievement in Theatre Honoree Harvey Fierstein at the historic 76th Annual Theatre World Awards Ceremony that returned to a live in-person presentation on the set of the Jeffrey Richards production of the critically acclaimed Broadway Revival of American Buffalo.

The story of “Reunion” tells the tale of the fictitious band Archer, as the members look back on their storied career throughout the multi-layered piece. Tony nominated Broadway star, Carmen Cusack, Jeremy Kushnier, Jim Hogan and Alex Sturtevant are confirmed for the workshop of the project which began its 'first look' 29 hour industry read this week.

The hilarious New York and Las Vegas hit Friends! The Musical Parody comes to Sydney this week as part of its Australian tour, playing at Riverside Theatres, Paramatta from Friday 10 June until Saturday 18 June.

Often cited as one of the best movie musicals ever made, the 1952 romantic comedy Singin’ In The Rain, starring Gene Kelly, Donald O'Connor and Debbie Reynolds, has a special place in many people's hearts. It was first adapted for the West End stage in 1983 and since then there have been multiple productions. The current UK tour is a revival of the 2012 London production and is a faithful recreation of the movie, following Betty Comden and Adolph Green's screenplay almost to the letter and including all the songs by Nacio Herb Brown and Arthur Freed that originally featured. If there's a scene, a line or even a visual gag that you love in the film, chances are it's also in the stage adaptation.

This afternoon, Michael R. Jackson, the Tony-nominated and Pulitzer Prize-winning author of A Stange Loop, celebrated an important milestone as he joined the famous faces among the portrait at theatre institution, Sardi's.

What did our critic think of Cry it Out at Ankeny Community Theatre? Over the last few years of doing reviews, I've had the pleasure of seeing some true gems in our theatre community that are just outside of Des Moines. While these theatres may not have the budget of some of the Des Moines theatres, the heart and creativity they bring is just as strong. One example of this is Ankeny Community Theatre's production of 'Cry it Out' by Molly Smith Metzler, which opened on June 3. Thanks to some of the creative choices they've made with this show, it has stuck with me since seeing it. As I think more about the show, I've found myself appreciating the creativity even more.

Her first North American headline tour since 2019, The So Nice Tour will kick off September 24th at MTELUS in Montreal, QC and will make stops at marquee venues including Radio City Music Hall in New York City and The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles.  Empress Of will support tour dates from Sept. 24 to Nov. 5 with her forthcoming EP Save Me.

The Tony Award-winning Best Musical Moulin Rouge! The Musical is releasing a new block of tickets for performances through February 26, 2023 at Broadway’s Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th St, NYC).

M³ will present its first Gala on June 22nd, hosted by music writer Kyla Marshell, presenting the inaugural M³ Lifetime Achievement Award to Shanta Nurullah. Jesse Tyler Ferguson has won the 2022 Tony Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Featured Role in a Play for TAKE ME OUT. 

The Kinnor Philharmonic will celebrate the musical achievements of three musical pupils of former Kansas City Symphony Concertmaster and violinist Tiberius Klausner in a special concert on Sunday, June 12 at 3 p.m. in The Lewis and Shirley White Theatre of the Jewish Community Center of Greater Kansas City.
