This 12-time Tony-nominated musical delivers a radically contemporary and moving take on Tolstoy's War and Peace through its audacious storytelling and groundbreaking score that mixes indie rock, pop, folk, electronic dance, and classic Broadway music.
Mirvish Productions mourns the death of Tony Bennett at the age of 96 in his New York home on Friday July 21, 2023. Bennett was a longtime friend of the Mirvish family and a frequent guest at Ed's Warehouse Restaurant. In 1978, Bennett performed a week of concerts at the Royal Alexandra Theatre, October 23 to 28, that remains a highlight of the venue's storied history.

Fitting to the name, this performance is a pressurized exploration into the days leading up to D-Day in June, 1944. General Dwight Eisenhower (exquisitely played by Malcolm Sinclair) led the Allied Forces on a carefully calculated attack on Nazi-occupied France. With 350 000 lives at stake, the one unpredictable wild card was the often unforgiving weather. The man tasked with delivering the most crucial weather forecast in history fell on Scottish meteorologist James Stagg (Kevin Doyle).

What did These 12 actors have created the most perfect professional ensemble show I have ever seen. There was no stand out star of this show, there were no pro or antagonists. There was only circumstances and stories. Often reviewers say things like, “This is not a show to be missed!’ “Catch it while you can!” and other such things, so I won’t. But I will tell you that you will be missing out on some of the best theater I have seen. So, get your tickets, it’s only “90 minutes without an intermission” and worth every second. This is a show I personally hope to see again and again.
