Rehearsals are underway for Roundabout Theatre Company's world premiere of You Will Get Sick, a new play by Noah Diaz directed by Tony Award nominee Sam Pinkleton. Refracted Theatre Company is launching its inaugural Chicago season with the world premiere of Andrew Kramer’s dark comedy St. Sebastian, directed by Artistic Director Graham Miller. This three-hander about a queer white couple that moves into a historically Black neighborhood will be presented September 15 – October 2, 2022. See photos here!

n KEEP A TENDER DISTANCE, Ms. Ward has taken a large artistic leap forward from her previous collection of Sondheim. A PERFECT LITTLE DEATH was recorded in the middle of the pandemic in Ward’s home studio and contained 13 songs utilizing mostly just her solo voice and a guitar. The new album feels like an entirely more collaborative affair.  There are a plethora of instruments and lots of backup vocals (even though many of the voices are Ward herself.) Her technique has grown sharper, both as a vocalist and an instrumentalist, and her emotional range is deeper and more on target.

HAIRSPRAY, Broadway’s Tony Award®-winning musical comedy phenomenon, went on sale September 16, 2022 at 10 AM. This new North American tour, helmed by original director Jack O’Brien and original choreographer Jerry Mitchell, will play Friday, November 4 – Saturday, November 5, 2022 in Kalamazoo at Miller Auditorium. 

The John W. Engeman Theater's production of MYSTIC PIZZA - A New Musical opened on Saturday, September 17th. Performances began on Thursday, September 15, 2022, and runs through Sunday, October 30, 2022.

Broadway will welcome Arthur Miller’s Death of a Salesman on Saturday, September 17th at 8 PM at the Hudson Theatre (141 West 44th Steet). The production released two videos from the show’s stars, Wendell Pierce and André De Shields, celebrating the show’s first performance. Opening night is set for Sunday, October 9th.

The international comedy hit My Mother's Italian, My Father's Jewish & I'm in Therapy!, featuring actor & comedian Peter J. Fogel, will be coming to the Kirkland Performance Center September 21-October 23.

A chance meeting between the owner of a struggling shoe factory and a London drag queen leads to an unlikely and life-changing alliance in KINKY BOOTS, the Tony Award-winning musical that opens Friday at Adrian's Croswell Opera House. Performances run the weekends of Sept. 16-18 and Sept. 22-25.

Ensemble Theatre Company (ETC) presents the first show of its 2022-23 Season, CARMEN JONES, music by Georges Bizet with book and lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, choreography by Lisa Ruffin, musical direction by William Foster McDaniel, and directed by Jonathan Fox. 

The Emelin Theatre for the Performing Arts is celebrating its 50th anniversary year with a Gala on November 3 featuring Broadway Star Mandy Gonzalez (Hamilton, In The Heights, Wicked).

Pianist Simone Dinnerstein will be presented by Miller Theatre at Columbia University (2960 Broadway, at 116th Street) in a concert on Thursday, October 20, 2022 as part of the Miller Theatre's 2022-2023 Bach Series, which was curated by Dinnerstein.
