This fall, the Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) will present the New York museum debut of Canadian visual artist and performer Shary Boyle. On view from September 23, 2023–February 25, 2024, Shary Boyle: Outside the Palace of Me explores the forces that create our inner and outer selves, both individual and collective.

San Francisco Opera announced a cast change for Giuseppe Verdi’s Il Trovatore, which opens Tuesday, September 12 and is the first opera of the Company’s 101st season. Mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Semenchuk will perform the role of Azucena in all performances, replacing Anita Rachvelishvili who has withdrawn for personal reasons.

Sarasota Orchestra and the American Federation of Musicians Florida Gulf Coast, Local 427-721, finalized a three-year collective bargaining agreement ratified by the Symphonic Musicians Sarasota. Effective for the 2023-2024 season through the 2025-2026 season, the successor agreement includes a 5% annual wage increase for each year of the agreement.

CTG’s associate artistic director directs the cast of Ashley Brooke, Aliyah Camacho, Samantha Wynette Miller, Coral Peña, Lilian Rebelo and Juan Francisco Villa. The very busy Samantha squeezed some time from her preview rehearsals to answer a few of my queries.

The film’s cast features Fallon Goodson (Maladies), Sky Hardison (Dear Annabelle), Mary Stieffel (Preacher), Logan MacRae (Where the Crawdads Sing), Ayla Miller, Summer Joy Campbell (Bottoms), Ajaye Hopper and Sarah Schuler in the title role. Ruby Green cast the film.
