OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network announced today the third season of its popular docu-series “Black Love” will premiere on Saturday, August 10 at 9:00 p.m. ETPT. The series, which celebrates love stories from the Black community, ranked number one last season in its Saturday night time slot across broadcast and cable with African American W25-54 and W18-49.

IFC announced today the star-studded guest star roster for Sherman's Showcase, the network's new variety sketch series created by and starring Diallo Riddle (Marlon, Rise) and Bashir Salahuddin (GLOW, Snatched) and executive produced by John Legend's Get Lifted Film Co. and RadicalMedia. The series premieres Wednesday, July 31st at 10PM only on IFC.

Once again, the NAACP Beverly Hills/Hollywood Branch's Theatre Viewing Committee has spoken, and the nominations are in for the 28th Annual NAACP Theatre Awards. This year's pedigreed list of nominees collectively represents a rich, extensive dossier of legacies and accolades for both stage and screen. These nominees include members of a legendary 'gospel royal family' as well as a Legend whose part of an elite group of artists in the EGOT winners circle. HBO Documentary Films has acquired worldwide TV and film rights to UNITED SKATES. Directed and produced by Dyana Winkler and Tina Brown, the film received the Documentary Audience Award at this year's Tribeca Film Festival, and will debut on HBO in 2019. John Legend is an executive producer of the documentary feature, which was produced by Sweet Ninja Films in association with LA Media Fund, Get Lifted Film Co., Secret Sauce Media and Naked Edge Films.
Arena Stage's TURN ME LOOSE Extends Through October 21

The D.C.-area premiere of Turn Me Loose, Gretchen Law's intimate, no-holds-barred drama about the extraordinary and explosive life of Dick Gregory, will receive an additional six performances during its run at Arena Stage. Under the direction of John Gould Rubin, Turn Me Loose now plays through October 21, 2018 in the Kreeger Theater.

The Television Academy tonight presented the 2018 Creative Arts Emmy Awards Ceremonies on Saturday and Sunday night honoring outstanding artistic and technical achievement in television at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The Saturday ceremony, which kicked-off the 70th Emmys, awarded many talented artists and craftspeople in the categories of animation, scripted programming including comedy, drama and limited series. The Sunday ceremony honored performers, artists and craftspeople for excellence in variety, nonfiction or reality programming, reality competition programming, music, choreography, as well as documentary or nonfiction specials, informational series or specials.
