Monologist Mike Daisey was commissioned by PlayMakers Repertory Company to create a piece about one of America's biggest 'hot button' topics: guns. In his The Story of the Gun, Daisey explores Americans' relationship with guns using historical anecdotes and personal history, to create a thought-provoking exploration of how Americans feel about guns and why they feel that way.

The official announcement was made Monday night at a gArden Party at The Courtyard at the Hartley House, with a wine tasting sponsored by a cellar full of noise, included appearances byMike Daisey, Colman Domingo and BD Wong, and special guests including Tom Hewitt and Nilaja Sun. Award-winning solo performer Ben Rimalower presented Eva Price with the Pioneer Award, recognizing individuals and companies who have forged the way for solo theatre. The third annual All For One Theatre Festival will play a limited engagement at Cherry Lane Studio Theater (38 Commerce Street, NY). Created and performed by Daisey with direction by Jean-Michele Gregory, ALL THE FACES OF THE MOON will run for 29 unique, consecutive performances through Thursday, October 3 at Joe's Pub, with an official opening on Wednesday, September 11. Each night Daisey will be joined onstage by one of 29 oil paintings commissioned and created for this show by the Russian artist Larissa Tokmakova, illustrating and illuminating the story he's telling.
