All For One Theatre Festival Announces Third Season: BEYOND WORDS, ANOTHER MEDEA & More

All For One Theater Festival (AFO) and Michael Wolk, Executive Director, haved announced the line-up of the Third Annual All For One Theatre Festival. The official announcement was made Monday night at a garden party at The Courtyard at the Hartley House, with a wine tasting sponsored by a cellar full of noise, included appearances by Mike Daisey, Colman Domingo and BD Wong, and special guests including Tom Hewitt and Nilaja Sun. Award-winning solo performer Ben Rimalower presented Eva Price with the Pioneer Award, recognizing individuals and companies who have forged the way for solo theatre. The third annual All For One Theatre Festival will play a limited engagement at Cherry Lane Studio Theater (38 Commerce Street, NY). Performances begin Friday, Oct 11 and continue through Saturday, Nov 9.

Public Theater Artistic Director Oskar Eustis and Executive Director Patrick Willingham announced the line-up today for The Public's 2013-2014 season, continuing the theater's nearly 60 year tradition of producing Shakespeare and the classics, musicals, contemporary and experimental works in equal measure while engaging a wide range of audiences and artists at its six downtown theaters at Astor Place, including Joe's Pub, as well as the Delacorte Theater in Central Park. The Public's 58th season will also celebrate the 10th anniversary of the acclaimed Under the Radar Festival and the 15th anniversary of the world-renowned Joe's Pub.
'This season - whether classics, new plays, musicals or experimental ensembles - speaks to the way we live now,' said Artistic Director Oskar Eustis. 'We will bring you the triumphant return (and climax) of Richard Nelson's Apply Family Plays, the heartbreaking and gorgeous new musical Fun Home, and Tarell Alvin McCraney's thrilling Antony & Cleopatra, in a collaboration between England and America's leading Shakespeare companies. We are deeply proud of the range and depth of the work of these remarkable artists and are delighted to add them to the rich history of The Public Theater.'

Amphibian Stage Productions today announced that Jaime Castañeda will direct its upcoming production of The Agony and the Ecstasy of Steve Jobs by Mike Daisey, starring Steven Young. The New York-based director graduated from Fort Worth's Texas Christian University and has directed extensively in the DFW area, most recently The Elaborate Entrance of Chad Diety by Kristoffer Diaz at Dallas Theater Center, and he returns once again to helm this regional premiere.
