2023 LUNGS Theater Festival to Be Held in June

Loisaida United Neighborhood Gardens (LUNGS), FRIGID New York and GOH Productions will present the 2nd Annual LUNGS Theater Festival on Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4 from 3pm-6pm at the 6B Garden

Zeiders American Dream Theater presents the world premiere new musical, Second To Nun, running June 29 through August 5, 2017. Opening night was Saturday, July 1, coinciding with Canada's 150th Anniversary. Performances continue Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 7pm.

GERONIMO Life on the Reservation to Host Q & A with Director Steve Railsback, 1/30

The well-received solo play GERONIMO Life on the Reservation written by Janelle Meraz Hooper, directed by Steve Railsback and performed by veteran actor Rudy Ramos, will host a   Q & A with director Railsback this Saturday, January 30th after the 8:00 pm performance at the Whitefire Theatre in Sherman Oaks, CA.

An annual event that benefits TNC's Emerging Playwrights Program, this year's LOVE 'N COURAGE event was hosted by Phoebe Legere and Matt Morillo and featured performances by Ms. Grimes, Mr. Amram, Vinie Burrows, Judy Gorman, Yip Harburg Foundation's Rainbow Troupe, Luba Mason, Human Kinetics Movement Arts, and The Love Show, along with select excerpts from plays by Andrea Fulton, Georges Bizet, Daniel Catan and Seymour Barab. Tammy Grimes & David Amram to be Honored at Theater for the New City's LOVE N' COURAGE Benefit

The two-time Tony Award-winning actress Tammy Grimes (PRIVATE LIVES, THE UNSINKABLE MOLLY BROWN) and composer David Amram (scores for the films SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS and THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE) will be honored at Theater for the New City's 12th annual LOVE 'N COURAGE evening on Monday, March 2 at 6 p.m. The National Arts Club (15 Gramercy Park South), it has been announced by Crystal Field, TNC's Executive Director (and an actress who appeared in SPLENDOR IN THE GRASS). Ms. Grimes will be awarded Theater for the New City's LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD.

Liliane Montevecchi to Headline LOVE 'N COURAGE Honoring Mario Fratti, 2/24

Liliane Montevecchi - the celebrated actress best-known for her Tony and Drama Desk Award-winning performance in the musical NINE - will lead the line-up for theatre artists paying tribute to the playwright and theater critic Mario Fratti (whose adaptation of the Federico Fellini film 8 ½ became the Broadway musical NINE), when Theater for the New City presents its 11th annual LOVE 'N COURAGE benefit on Monday, February 24 at 6 pm at the National Arts Club (15 Gramercy Park South) in New York City.

The Company Members of Labyrinth Theater Company, the award-winning, downtown ensemble, have announced today casting for its upcoming NEWYORKNEWYORK Festival Marathon Weekend, which will feature forty-eight hours of free, round-the-clock readings of plays centered around New York themes - iconic playwrights, vibrant cultures, urban ideals, and more. Over 180 actors will participate in the marathon weekend of free play readings including: Max Casella, Sarita Chowdhury, Liza Colon-Zayas, Kieran Culkin, Tony Danza, John Doman, Tate Donovan, Halley Feiffer, Michael Kelly, Elizabeth Kemp, Josh Hamilton, Sarah Nina Hayon, Florencia Lozano, Julia Murney, Tony Plana, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Julia Stiles, Marlo Thomas, and Yul Vazquez. The marathon will feature classic works by over twenty esteemed New York playwrights, including Maria Irene Fornes, Lorraine Hansberry, David Henry Hwang, Kenneth Lonnergan, Arthur Miller, Clifford Odets, Miguel Pinero, and more.
