Syracuse Stage's stunning production of Amadeus under the always meticulous direction of Robert Hupp opened on Friday, March 13, 2020 and also closed on the same night due to the coronavirus outbreak. The decision to suspend the rest of the production's run was a choice that Hupp told the audience a?oewas the right thing to do.a?? Although Governor Cuomo banned gatherings of more than 500 people, the Archbold Theater seats 499 so the board technically had the choice. They made the right, yet very tough choice like so many theaters across the country.

La Jolla Playhouse is pleased to launch its 2020 Performance Outreach Program (POP) Tour production: Emily Driver's Great Race through Time and Space, by A.A. Brenner and Gregg Mozgala, directed by National Disability Theatre (NDT) Co-Executive Directors and Playhouse Artists-in-Residence Talleri A. McRae and Mickey Rowe. The production will tour schools throughout San Diego County January 29 a?" March 27. Commissioned by the Playhouse, this world-premiere play for young audiences will also have four public performances on February 29 and March 1 at 1:00pm and 3:00pm at La Jolla Playhouse. Two clowns and an autistic person walk into a bar. The set up to a joke or a normal day after a workshop of Juliette Dunn's new play The Puzzle? One is Broadway and Cirque du Soleil's writer, director, and performer David Shiner known for Broadway's Tony Winning Fool Moon, Old Hats, Seussical the Musical, and numerous Cirque shows. The other is Cirque du Soleil veteran Daniel Passer. The autistic man is Mickey Rowe, the first autistic actor to play Christopher Boone in the Tony award-winning Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time, co-executive director of the National Disability Theatre, and next set to play the title role in Amadeus.
