The Auditorium Theatre announces the commission of American Traffic, a new work for Trinity Irish Dance Company (TIDC) created by acclaimed tap dancer, choreographer, and MacArthur a?oeGenius Granta?? recipient Michelle Dorrance and celebrated collaborator Melinda Sullivan.

George Street Playhouse opens their inaugural season at the New Brunswick Performing Arts Center (NBPAC) with 'Last Days of Summer.' It is based on the contemporary novel by Steve Kluger and directed by two-time Tony Award nominee Jeff Calhoun with music by Grammy winner Jason Howland. Lincoln Center Theater, under the direction of André Bishop, has announced it will produce a new musical during its 2019-2020 season. FLYING OVER SUNSET, with a book and direction by James Lapine, music by Tom Kitt, and lyrics by Michael Korie, will feature choreography by Michelle Dorrance, and will begin previews March 12, 2020 and open on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). Carmen Cusack, Harry Hadden-Paton and Tony Yazbeck will head the cast with additional casting to be announced at a later date.

Set upon a picture-perfect sky on the Fire Island Pines' glistening Great South Bay, the 25th anniversary edition of Fire Island Dance Festival brought together a diverse, captivating program of world premieres, dance legends and stirring storytelling. Battery Dance announces the 38th Annual Battery Dance Festival with free performances from August 11-16, 2019 from 7 - 9 pm, against the backdrop of New York Harbor, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island at Robert F. Wagner, Jr. Park in Battery Park City.

The Princess Grace Foundation-USA has announced that it is establishing a new award to support emerging theater professionals in any discipline for his/her "Unique Contribution to Theater."  This award is being funded by a $1,000,000 charitable gift from the John Gore Organization with a goal of identifying and supporting extraordinary young talent in the theater field.  The award will be presented annually, beginning in 2019.

The American Dance Festival (ADF) continues its summer offerings with the return of Pilobolus to Page Auditorium in a program of classic works.
