The fourth annual Berkshire Theatre Critics Awards (aka The Berkies) were handed out on a chilly Monday evening, November 11, 2019, at Zion Lutheran Church in Pittsfield, MA. Eligible for nomination were 105 productions from the past year, presented at more than three dozen venues in Western Massachusetts, New York, Vermont and Connecticut, all within a fifty-mile radius of the borders of Berkshire County.

The third and final day of the 2019 espnW: Women + Sports Summit, featured NBA Countdown's Maria Taylor, WNBA All-Star A'ja Wilson and Olympic medalists Michelle Carter (shot put) and Ibtihaj Muhammad (fencing), 2020 Olympic hopeful Jordyn Barratt (first-ever U.S. skateboarding team), top women's basketball prospect Azzi Fudd, UCLA softball star Bubba Nickles, and V Foundation CEO Susan Braun.

Leo Rising Theatre Company's production of 'The Last Days of Judas Iscariot' by Stephen Adly Guirgis and directed by Michael Kodi Farrow, takes place in a court room in downtown purgatory following the trial of the infamous traitor, Judas Iscariota?? or was he a traitor? This dark comedy is one weekend only: September 28th & September 29th at the Art of Acting Studio in West Hollywood.

I LOVE YOU, NOW DIE kicks off HBO's trilogy of two-part crime documentaries on successive Tuesday and Wednesday nights this July. “Behind Closed Doors” debuts the following Tuesday and Wednesday, July 16 and 17, followed by Liz Garbus' “Who Killed Garrett Phillips?” concluding the series July 23 and 24.

In July 2014, 18-year-old Conrad Roy committed suicide in his car at a parking lot in Fairhaven, Mass. Police soon discovered a series of alarming text messages from his girlfriend, 17-year-old Michelle Carter, that seemed to encourage him to kill himself. This discovery sparked sensational headlines nationwide, leading to a trial that raised difficult questions about technology, social media and mental health, while asking if one person can be held responsible for the suicide of another. 

Every crime has a story in a trilogy of compelling two-part documentaries about mysterious deaths and complicated trials, beginning TUESDAY, JULY 9, exclusively on HBO. The films explore a wide range of issues, including race, gender and class bias, and offer new insights into cases involving young adults and children that received national and international attention. With exclusive access to family members, law enforcement officials and criminal justice proceedings, the documentaries reveal the complex stories behind the crimes.

Catskill's Bridge Street Theatre is delighted to announce its 2019 line-up of plays - five magnificent and audacious stage works for audiences to savor between April and October.  It includes two world premieres, a Victorian comedy, an American classic and an astounding musical about The Shaggs.

Lifetime delivers seven movies that fall under the realm of a parent's worst nightmare, tackling topics like mental health, suicide and teen domestic dating violence among others this fall. Starting off with The Bad Seed, the evil that lies within is revealed on September 9th with the disturbing story of a father (Rob Lowe) who discovers his daughter (McKenna Grace) could be hurting the people around her. Patty McCormack also stars.

With a mission to produce one new play by each of its six members, 6NewPlays officially closes up shop this fall with WAKEFIELD by Brian Thorstenson. Inspired by Nathaniel Hawthorne's short story of the same name, Wakefield starts at the moment Hawthorne's story ends, when the husband Henry Wakefield returns home after 20 years. Veteran actor Anne Darragh plays Sophia, Henry's wife, alongside Thorstenson as Henry. Erin Mei-Ling Stuart co-directs. Wakefield runs October 5 - 14 at Studio 210 in the Mission. Tickets, $20 - $25, will go on sale in August.

It's Mental Health Awareness Month and The Child Mind Institute is featuring a celebrity video per day as part of its #MyYoungerSelf campaign to end the stigma attached to mental health and learning disorders. Each day, the site will share celebrities speaking to their younger selves via homemade, inspiring messages recorded on their smartphones. Today's video features Patti Murin, discussing her struggles with depression.
