National Alliance for Musical Theatre announces final casting for the 31st Annual FESTIVAL OF NEW MUSICALS, which takes place on Thursday, October 24 and Friday, October 25, 2019 at New World Stages (340 West 50th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues).

The man who has a supreme dexterity with words, who possess an ability to weave them together and create harmonious and engrossing ideas came to see the man ( and woman) who do the same with music notes last night at Birdland. Stephen Holden the esteemed music and theatre critic of the New York Times, now retired came to hear John Pizzarelli and his special but not surprising guest (wife) Jessica Molaskey.

Prospect Theater Company, under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Cara Reichel and Managing Director Melissa Huber, will present TENACITY, a one-night-only concert of founding artist Peter Mills' songs for tenors, spanning 20 years of new musicals. 

Live Arts at the Morris Museum, a bold new performance series, introduces cultural climate change to Morris County's Morris Museum in historic Morristown, New Jersey. Obie-Award winning performance group, The Secret City, announces their annual gala, a Gershwin Cabaret held in the penthouse that formerly belonged to Ira Gershwin, next door to the Penthouse lived in by his brother, George. The Gershwin's shared musical output from the early 20th century shaped the course of American popular music and much of their most celebrated work was created in these apartments.

Broadway's legendary musical theater creators and up-and-comers alike, came out to honor this year's three prize winners, perform some of their material, and present the prizes at a reception hosted by ASCAP and BMI.

The 17th Annual Broadway Unplugged was held at the Merkin Concert Hall last night, October 13.

Award-winning songwriter Joel B. New presented an eclectic evening of his songs, Joel B. New Is Trying Too Hard, at The Green Room 42 on Saturday, October 6th. 

Kelli Barrett, star of such recent Broadway shows as Gettin' the Band Back Together and Dr. Zhivago, plus multi-award winning nightclub star Klea Blackhurst, have just been added to the all-star cast of this coming Saturday night's 17th Annual Broadway Unplugged at the Merkin Concert Hall. The American Theatre Wing's Jonathan Larson and MAC's John Wallowitch Award-winning songwriter Joel B. New presents an eclectic evening of his songs at The Green Room 42 on Saturday, October 6th at 9:30pm. Along with a lineup of singers from Broadway and beyond -- including Madge Dietrich (Kinky Boots), CK Edwards (Shuffle Along), Nikka Graff Lanzarone (Women On The Verge…), Victoria Huston-Elem (Finding Neverland), Travis Kent (Disaster!), Richard Riaz Yoder (Hello, Dolly!), Ben Roseberry (Gentleman's Guide…), Hansel Tan (The Four Immigrants), and Michael Winther (Fun Home) -- New will perform highlights from his diverse collection of projects, many of which appear on his forthcoming sophomore album, sardonically entitled Joel B. New Is Trying Too Hard. The evening features musical direction by Gillian Berkowitz (Avenue Q), with New co-directing alongside Robbie Rozelle (Songs From Inside My Locker).
