Page 73 Announces 2021-2022 Programming Featuring MAN CAVE, LA RACE and More

Page 73 has announced plans for returning to production, with John J. Caswell, Jr.’s Man Cave, directed by Taylor Reynolds, and Bleu Beckford-Burrell’s La Race. Launch: A Docuseries will spotlight the playwrights and trace Page 73’s process of mounting these two works amidst the obstacles and surprises of live theater’s gradual return.

Page 73 Announces Self-Designed and Self-Directed Retreats for Playwrights

Page 73 today announced a new playwright-supporting initiative: self-directed retreats, tailored to writers’ individual needs and preferences. In lieu of the organization’s usual Summer Residency, this year Page 73 offers four playwrights in its community the opportunity to design their own week-long professional writing retreats.

Page 73 today announced its 2021-2022 group of Interstate 73 residents. The 2021-2022 Interstate 73 residents are Heidi Armbruster, Jahna Ferron-Smith, Dylan Guerra, Roger Q. Mason, April Ranger, Scott R. Sheppard, juliany taveras, and Max Yu.

Page 73 Announces Bleu Beckford-Burrell as 2021 Page 73 Playwriting Fellow

Page 73 has named Bleu Beckford-Burrell the 2021 Page 73 Playwriting Fellow. An Interstate 73 writers group member who was first invited to work with Page 73 in their 2017 Summer Residency, Beckford-Burrell is also one of the playwrights granted 11-day virtual residencies this season.

Page 73 Has Named Emma Goidel the 2020 Playwriting Fellow

PAGE 73 PRODUCTIONS (Page 73) (Michael Walkup, Artistic Director; Amanda Feldman, Managing Director; Rebecca Yaggy, Director of Development; Liz Jones and Asher Richelli, Founding Directors) has named Emma Goidel the 2020 Page 73 Playwriting Fellow. Selected from over 400 applicants, Goidel will receive a $10,000 award and an additional $10,000 budgeted for developing several new plays over the course of the year.

Page 73 (Michael Walkup, Artistic Director; Amanda Feldman, Managing Director; Rebecca Yaggy, Director of Development; Liz Jones and Asher Richelli, Founding Directors) have announced complete casting for the world premiere of STEW, written by Zora Howard (Premature, IFC Films) and directed by Colette Robert (Behind the Sheet). Performances of STEW begin on Monday, January 20 at the Walkerspace Theatre for a limited run through Saturday, February 22. Opening night is set for Saturday, February 1.

Page 73 (Michael Walkup, Artistic Director; Amanda Feldman, Managing Director; Rebecca Yaggy, Director of Development; Liz Jones and Asher Richelli, Founding Directors) is proud to announce the world premiere of STEW, written by Zora Howard (Premature, IFC Films) and directed by Colette Robert (Behind the Sheet). As with every Page 73 production, including last season's A STRANGE LOOP by Michael R. Jackson and CATCH AS CATCH CAN by Mia Chung, STEW marks Howard's professional debut as a playwright Off Broadway. Performances of STEW begin on Monday, January 20 at the Walkerspace Theatre for a limited run through Saturday, February 22. Opening night is set for Saturday, February 1.

Playwrights Horizons Announces Live For Five Lottery For A STRANGE LOOP

Playwrights Horizons (Artistic Director Tim Sanford, Managing Director Leslie Marcus), will, from today, May 13, through Thursday, May 16, accept entries for the Live for Five online lottery, giving out $5 tickets to the world premiere production of 2019 Whiting Award Winner Michael R. Jackson's A Strange Loop, (May 24-July 7), presented in association with Page 73 (Producing Artistic Director Michael Walkup, Managing Director Amanda Feldman). Directed by Stephen Brackett (Be More Chill, Buyer and Cellar) and choreographed by Raja Feather Kelly (Playwrights: If Pretty Hurts Ugly Must Be a Muhf**ka; Ugly (Black Queer Zoo), Fairview), A Strange Loop explores the thoughts of Usher, a black, queer writer working a job he hates while writing his original musical: a piece about a black, queer writer, working a job he hates while writing his original musical. Michael R. Jackson's blistering, momentous new musical (and his professional debut) follows a young artist at war with a host of demons-not least of which are the punishing thoughts in his own head-in an attempt to capture and understand his own strange loop.

A.C.T. Announces Lineup for Fourth Annual New Strands Festival

Today, American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.)'s Director of Dramaturgy and New Works Joy Meads announced the lineup for A.C.T.'s fourth annual New Strands Festival, taking place at A.C.T.'sStrand Theater (1127 Market Street, San Francisco) May 16-19, 2019. The New Strands Festival is a free festival featuring new theatrical pieces, works-in-progress, and readings, as well as a master class series and special happy hours to celebrate and share the artistry and expertise from the local and national theater scene.

Page 73 Spring Benefit Will Honor Board President Amanda Woods

Page Seventy-Three Productions (Page 73) (Michael Walkup, Producing Artistic Director; Amanda Feldman, Managing Director; Rebecca Yaggy, Director of Development) announced today that the 2019 Spring Benefit will honor long standing Page 73 Board President Amanda Woods. The Spring Benefit will be held on Thursday, April 11 at Angel Orensanz Foundation (172 Norfolk Street).
