It was a happy time at Cafe Centro last night. Danny Bacher brought his Jazz, Vocals, and Comedy to the Cabaret and joined forces with the Michael Masci trio. Danny has all the talents to perfectly pay homage to the three musician entertainers he celebrated in his show….Louis Armstrong, Louis Prima, and Louis Jordan. Danny plays 'happy music' and his enthusiasm and joy transferred to the Cafe Centro audience. As they say, 'the joint was jumpin', with Michael on piano, Paul Shewchuck on bass, and Cielo Blue, drums.
The audience at Cafe Centro got a little confused last night and thought New Years Eve was still being celebrated during the Rob & Michael music night at the popular South Florida restaurant/cabaret. In addition to the suave Mr. Russell and pianist/entertainer Masci the Broadway/Cabaret star Avery Sommers and famed Concert and Cabaret artist Anthony Nunziata happened to be in the audience and wound up 'singing for their dinner'
Palm Beach notables Rob Russell & Michael Masci joined forces to have a 'soft unofficial opening' of the Palm Beach music season with a one night only performance at Cafe Centro in West Palm Beach last night and Broadwayworld was there.
The stars came out for prominent entertainment personality, Richard Skipper, Sunday, February 11, in celebration of the celebrator - his birthday. Producer RUSS WOOLLEY gathered some stunning talent to serenade the host with the most at the Laurie Beechman Theatre on 42nd Street with songs and stories bringing on laughter, tears, and a lots of applause.
The winning bidder at The New York Pops Silent Auction, whose proceeds help finance The Pops/Ed Programs of The New York Pops, got something way above the original listed value. The auction item was for one pianist to play at your private party. However not only did the pianist show up at the appointed time, he was joined by some of the world's greatest pianists and entertainers for the special evening.
The Carlyle's legendary Bemelmans Bar has a substantial bench (piano) of talented singer/pianists who have performed for it's prominent clientele. Michael Marci, a Palm Beach Florida import is musically hitting it out of the park on Sundays with his creative piano and vocal stylings and has been attracting a sophisticated and celeb filled audience.
Carole J. Bufford made her entrance on the New York cabaret stage in the Metropolitan Room's MetroStar Talent Challenge. Immediately following, she was asked to perform at the 2009 Cabaret Convention at Jazz@Lincoln Center presented by the Mabel Mercer Foundation. In addition, Ms. Bufford has been featured in numerous Broadway By The Year concerts, both at The Town Hall and in California. She has also performed in All Singin', All Dancin' as well as the recent Tribute to Judy Garland and The Art of American Dance at The Town Hall where she shared the stage with Lorna Luft and Susan Stroman in an all-star cast.
