It was a happy time at Cafe Centro last night. Danny Bacher brought his Jazz, Vocals, and Comedy to the Cabaret and joined forces with the Michael Masci trio. Danny has all the talents to perfectly pay homage to the three musician entertainers he celebrated in his show....Louis Armstrong, Louis Prima, and Louis Jordan. Danny plays "happy music" and his enthusiasm and joy transferred to the Cafe Centro audience. As they say, "the joint was jumpin", with Michael on piano, Paul Shewchuck on bass, and Cielo Blue, drums.

Danny Bacher is a singer, saxophonist, songwriter and entertainer in the fullest sense of the term. He's not only a master of the demanding soprano sax, but combines his virtuosity on the instrument with a talent for comedy and narrative storytelling. He's a cool cat who makes hot jazz, cut from the cloth of the great Louis Prima. Bacher swings with pizzazz, scats and sings with a smoky voice, all adding to his compelling stage presence. Stephen Holden in The New York Times said of Bacher that he's a "prodigiously talented musical preservationist," adding what Bacher knows in his bones is that "the secret of serious fun is not to take it too seriously."

In addition to a solid career in jazz and cabaret, with a penchant for rare gems and Great American Songbook standards, Bacher has also worked as an actor, comedian and writer, touring internationally with his original works. Along with working at venues such as the Blue Note, Birdland, Jazz at Lincoln Center, and Town Hall, he has performed most recently at Carnegie Hall with Michael Feinstein and Sheldon Harnick, celebrating the Great American Jewish Songwriters, the Mabel Mercer Foundation's (MMF) annual concert at Weill Hall (Carnegie Hall), the annual MMF Cabaret Convention, Live at Lynn at Wold PAC in Boca Raton, FL and the 2019 Cayman Arts Festival. He was a featured performer at the American Songbook Association annual gala in September 2018 and made his Feinstein's/54 Below debut in December 2018. Bacher has released two studio albums, "Swing That Music!" and "Still Happy" on the Whaling City Sound label. He is also a proud member of the New York Friars

Music Director Michael Masci enjoys a career spanning for more than thirty years in the entertainment industry. He has performed at Cafe Carlye, Birdland, Branson MO, Atlantic City, Las Vegas, Hawaii, and Europe. He has an excellent reputation for playing a wide variety of genres of music and is always a professional, yet his audiences attest that "his charisma and boyish charm are palpable," and rave, "his warmth and love for what he does makes everyone feel pulled into the music."Michael's musical influences range from the Great American Songbook, including Berlin, Gershwin, Porter, etc. to classiest versions of today's Pop Tunes, like Prince, Bruno Mars and Maroon 5, just to name a few. Michael Masci was featured in articles of Broadway WORLD by journalist Stephen Sorokoff, after a performance with the legendary Michael Feinstein at Bemelman's Bar. VIPs from Los Angeles, Palm Beach, Europe and Singapore fly in, just to see him perform.
